Security teams that respond in seconds rather than minutes can prevent catastrophic losses and protect their organization's reputation

In a world where every second counts during an incident, the ability to respond swiftly and effectively can make all the difference. A proactive security response is a necessity in high-stakes environments such as airports, where a delayed reaction to a security breach can lead to severe consequences, including substantial financial losses and negative media exposure. Clients in these sectors require technologies that not only detect but also allow for immediate action against potential threats.

Hexagon's Jeremy Howard explains how the company's proactive security response solutions enable security operators to quickly identify and manage incidents. Instead of gathering data for later analysis, these systems are designed to deliver real-time solutions that prevent situations from escalating. He says, "What we need to do is, we need to be able to have cameras that know what that person was wearing, whether it was a blue shirt, blue pants, blue hat, being able to search against that material, allowing the operator to walk through a series of processes that allow them to get to the end result fast and then find that person, interdict that person, and save time, money, and PR for that airport."

Our clients typically have to be proactive in their security response. And those clients tend to be extremely knowledgeable about what they need because the implications of something going sideways really matter. When they come and and then look at our technologies, our technologies are geared toward allowing them to respond quickly and in the moment to real problems versus a forensic approach which you can find all over the floor as well which is more traditional uses of security. I had something, I don't have it now, I need to go and see what happened. For instance, if I'm in the airport and I have a security breach at a checkpoint, the amount of time it takes me to find that person and to interdict them is the difference between me being able to keep that airport open or having to dump the entire terminal. Think about the cost implications, think about the press. My technology allows them to connect the systems that that need to be connected. Not everything. Right? Let's be honest. We don't need to connect the HVAC system to find a security breach. What we need to do is we need to be able to have cameras that know what that person was wearing, whether it was a blue shirt, blue pants, blue hat, being able to search against that material, allow the operator to to walk through a series of processes that allow them to get to the end result fast and then find that person, interdict that person, and and save time, money, and PR for that airport. And that's what these solutions do. So it's a really cool opportunity for us to show not just what we do well, but how we're already starting to integrate other hexagon solution sets into our platform.
