Host Daniel Litwin was joined by Dr. Rosina Racioppi, a prominent voice for women in the workplace and CEO of WOMEN Unlimited, Inc.

WOMEN Unlimited is a mentoring network company for woman in corporate leadership aimed at providing leading corporations with a multi-faceted environment that helps women strengthen the skills they’ll need to become the next generation of top executives.

The topic of women in the workplace, and particularly in executive and C-suite roles, has re-entered the global conversation in a huge way in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and social unrest.

Racioppi and Litwin discussed the economic impacts of the pandemic on women in leadership, standout examples of women in high-profile leadership positions who forged a path forward during this unprecedented time, how social unrest and the Black Lives Matter movement have translated to a movement supporting women, and particularly Black, Indigenous and people of color, or BIPOC, women, in corporate environments, and Racioppi’s vision for what lies ahead for women in the workforce.

Diversity, Racioppi said, is about more than simply finding a lot of different people – it’s about allowing those differences to power an approach that sees corporations and organizations be bigger and bolder in their thinking and actions.

“If we want to play big, then we need to play in a bigger arena. We need to invite more people into the organization – not just invite them in, but give them the ability to contribute,” she said. “And maybe push our thinking in a way that’s a bit uncomfortable. It will help us all grow in the process.

“It’s about looking at our culture – the processes and systems within our organization – and [saying], ‘We need to rethink how we work together so that we can make sure we’re not unintentionally making it uncomfortable for people to move up and contribute.”
