The world’s roadways will look very different in the near future if the 2019 Chicago Auto Show is any indication. Every major car manufacturer attended the event, one of the largest automotive expos on the calendar each year.

MarketScale spoke with several of the most recognizable companies in the industry to see what they are bringing to drivers this year. Everything from autonomous vehicles to electric ones were on display and there was no shortage of innovations to talk about.

Not everyone at a car show is an expert though, so we thought we should also have a bit of fun with Chicagoans and test their automotive IQ as well.

Wait until the end of the video to see if you can guess which car names are real and which are fake!

Your Guide to the Chicago Auto Show

The Chicago Auto Show is back for its 111th exhibition. The vehicles may have changed but the goals of the event are the same, to deliver an experience of what’s next in the world of cars.

At the show, enthusiasts, drivers, and industry experts will be able to look at nearly 1,000 different vehicles. This year, multiple manufacturers will debut new models, with lots of new looks to greet attendees. With more than one million square feet available through the McCormick Place complex, there is not much that cannot be found at the show.

MarketScale traveled to the Chicago Auto Show to scope out the latest trends in the automotive industry. This week’s episode of the MarketScale Transportation Podcast features conversations with representatives from three different automakers who give their thoughts on emerging technology for automobiles.

This week’s show also features a conversation with an expert on railroads who explains how harsh weather, both cold and hot, can affect the railways in a big way.

End users made up 37% of InfoComm 2026's 28,132 attendees

End users made up 37% of InfoComm 2026's 28,132 attendees

AVIXA reports InfoComm 2026 drew 28,132 verified attendees from 94 countries to Las Vegas, with end users making up 37%. Microsoft and Cisco keynotes centered on AI agents for the meeting room. For enterprise workplace and IT teams, the June attendance mix and cross-platform AI pitches are timely as fall buying decisions approach.

  • 01A 37% end-user share at a pro AV trade show is a usable benchmark: more than one in three badges belonged to organizations that deploy the equipment, suggesting exhibitors may be demoing more directly to customers.
  • 02A sharper question to put to a collaboration vendor before the demo is which platform an AI meeting feature actually runs on. According to AVIXA, Cisco framed intelligent systems and open collaboration ecosystems as working across platforms including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom, while Microsoft tied its voice agents to Teams Phone and Teams Rooms.
  • 03The 170-meter Cat5e reach BZBGEAR's Matt Richards cited to CE Pro for the XTREME-PRO, part of the XLink-ONE family that took Best of Show at InfoComm 2026 from AV Technology, is a manufacturer spec, not an independent test; for facilities with runs past 100 meters it is worth a bench check before fiber is designed out.

Nevco’s Smyrna Customer Case Pairs Sports Streaming With Sponsorship Funding

Nevco’s announced seven-field Smyrna deployment combines streaming, scoring and sponsorship funding. The case highlights questions AV buyers should ask about operating costs, sponsor commitments and measurable results.

  • 01Nevco describes a sponsorship-funded streaming and scoring deployment across seven Smyrna fields, planned for fall 2026.
  • 02HometownLive platform options and school-athletics practitioner guidance provide context, not proof of Smyrna’s financial results.
  • 03AV buyers should assess operating costs, sponsor obligations and measurable performance alongside the equipment.
