AVer is betting that the fastest way to expand AV-over-IP in enterprises is not another end-to-end platform refresh. It’s a small bridge device that makes the installed base behave like it was designed for the network.

The company’s NC30 NDI encoder and decoder is designed to convert between HDMI, USB-C and NDI video sources, according to rAVe [PUBS], which previewed AVer’s InfoComm 2026 show lineup. AV Network’s product coverage presents the NC30 in the same light: an on-ramp to NDI for rooms where endpoints are still stubbornly “local,” like HDMI cameras and USB-C laptops.

That matters for operators because NDI adoption inside enterprises often stalls on a practical issue. Distribution can be IP, but the edge of the room still isn’t.

NC30 is aimed at the messy middle of AV-over-IP deployments

AVer’s own framing, as reported by rAVe [PUBS], is straightforward: the NC30 is meant to simplify AV-over-IP and extend modern meeting, learning and collaboration spaces. The feature list is what makes it operationally interesting, 4K60 support, USB-C connectivity, NDI HX, HDMI pass-through, and audio routing were all called out by rAVe [PUBS].

Read as a deployment tool, NC30 sits in the same category as the adapters, scalers and interface boxes that keep rooms alive through refresh cycles. The difference is that the “adapter” now speaks NDI, so a room camera, a laptop feed, or a local display can be treated as a network-addressable resource.

NC30’s value is that it turns ordinary HDMI and USB-C endpoints into routable, supportable NDI resources without forcing a room rebuild.

For enterprises that already run NDI inside production spaces, or that are trying to standardize video transport across lecture capture and conferencing, the promise is clear. Conversion at the edge reduces the number of special cases that end up in the ticket queue.

A laptop-first workflow is now colliding with room-first camera investments

The NC30’s emphasis on USB-C is a clue about where friction is moving. Many organizations have spent on room cameras and installed AV, but collaboration behavior has shifted toward personal devices. rAVe [PUBS] says AVer is positioning the NC30 to let users access professional room cameras and AV resources from personal laptops, while also converting laptop output into NDI for the rest of the system.

That can shorten deployment timelines for divisional rollouts. A space can keep its existing displays and cameras, but still join an NDI distribution layer for streaming, recording, overflow rooms, or remote production.

It also introduces governance questions that are familiar to IT but newer to AV teams: what counts as an authorized USB-C source, when does a laptop become a managed input, and how should audio routing behave when endpoints change at human speed. rAVe [PUBS] notes the NC30 includes audio routing, which suggests AVer expects it to be used as more than a pure video converter.

Why InfoComm 2026 positioning matters for enterprise standardization

AVer isn’t showing the NC30 in isolation. In its InfoComm 2026 preview, rAVe [PUBS] places it alongside other products aimed at lecture halls, divisible spaces, boardrooms and enterprise AV environments, including an NDI matrix auto-tracking box (MT500) and a Microsoft Teams Room kit (CORE500). The effect is to frame NDI as a backbone across both production and collaboration.

That’s a useful signal for procurement and architecture teams: vendors are increasingly treating “meeting room AV” and “campus production” as adjacent systems that should share transport, addressing and monitoring patterns. Bridge devices like NC30 are the connective tissue in that plan, especially when the estate includes a lot of HDMI infrastructure that isn’t due for replacement yet.

The operational shift is toward a single video transport assumption across rooms, lecture capture, overflow spaces and production, with conversion pushed to the edge.

AV Network’s coverage of the NC30 reinforces that story by focusing on the product category itself, an encoder/decoder designed to bring sources onto NDI and take NDI back out to common endpoint interfaces. In other words, the box is meant for the reality of mixed estates, not greenfield builds.

What AV and IT ops teams should validate before standardizing on NC30-class bridges

  • Define where conversion belongs in the design: at the display, at the lectern, or centralized in a rack. HDMI pass-through and 4K60 support (rAVe [PUBS]) hint that local monitoring and in-room confidence feeds may drive placement.
  • Treat USB-C as a policy surface, not a port. If the NC30 is used to connect personal laptops into an NDI domain (rAVe [PUBS]), document what devices are allowed, how they’re authenticated, and what happens when endpoints change mid-meeting.
  • Ask integrators to model audio paths explicitly. rAVe [PUBS] notes audio routing support, which can be helpful, but it can also create hidden dependencies between room DSP choices and the AV-over-IP layer.
  • Benchmark NDI HX performance in the real network. rAVe [PUBS] lists NDI HX support; teams should confirm latency and image quality targets for lecture capture, overflow rooms, and any use case that relies on tight lip-sync.
