The streaming company has sent emails to select family plan subscribers asking for their GPS locations. Customers who don’t confirm their home address will lose access to their plan. Some subscribers took to Twitter to express their anger over receiving the message. Spotify’s family plan can reduce cost by up to 75%, It’s still unclear how aggressive the company will be with this confirmation process going forward. The move by customer’s to save a quick buck is having a negative impact on Spotify’s numbers. The company’s average revenue per user declined by 12% in Q2.
