The drive-in movie was a thing of the past, reserved for nostalgic operations few and far between – but the COVID-19 pandemic may have given the format a new lease on life in the form of drive-in concerts and other events.
With social distancing precautions aplenty in the wake of the pandemic, event and concert organizers worked to put on shows and concerts that didn’t require groups of attendees to leave their cars, allowing them to be entertained without the exposure that would come from a normal face-to-face event.

“I think it’s a good strategy for what we can call an ‘in-person event,’ even if it’s a different version, because everybody has to stay in their car,” Bihet said.
“People love it. It’s different. It’s unique.”
There are also applications beyond entertainment, as well – why not use it for large corporate meetings to meet in person safely and add excitement? The possibilities are numerous.
