Cognizant is deploying Gemini Enterprise to 100,000 of its associates this year, with a stated plan to scale that to 200,000, following an expanded partnership with Google Cloud announced July 7, 2026. The move goes well beyond a licensing agreement: Cognizant is using its own internal rollout to build and validate the delivery models it then takes to joint enterprise clients.

The expanded collaboration builds on a dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice Cognizant established with Google Cloud in April 2026. The latest phase adds jointly delivered market offerings, a portfolio of reusable agents, and a formal Frontier Certified Engineer delivery model, in which certified Cognizant engineers embed directly within client environments to run agent evaluations and push deployments into production.

Internal deployment as a proof-of-concept at scale

Cognizant's decision to run Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace across its own global organization is deliberate. According to the company, internal use cases span software engineering, delivery operations, agentic workforce automation, and customer support, giving its engineers first-hand experience with the same deployment challenges their clients face.

In software engineering, teams are using Cognizant's Antigravity 2.0 platform alongside Gemini Enterprise capabilities for code explanation, automated test generation, and legacy application modernization. Internal benchmarks put the resulting acceleration in software development velocity at up to 30 percent. Separately, role-based agents deployed across prioritized business functions are automating between 60 and 70 percent of manual effort within those targeted workflows, per the company's own measurements.

That deployment reached production in three months. In the first year of operation, engineers made more than 500 optimizations to the underlying AI models, reflecting the kind of ongoing tuning effort that operators evaluating AI vendor relationships should expect to resource for.
