College of Idaho adds 10mm video display and scoreboard at Simplot Stadium

The College of Idaho installed a new 10mm Nevco video display and custom scoreboard system at Simplot Stadium to support the football program's rapid rise in the NAIA rankings. The venue upgrade is part of a broader athletics facilities investment aligned with the team's on-field success, including 11-2 record last season and number 4 national ranking.

The College of Idaho's football program outgrew its stadium faster than the stadium could keep up. The lights at Simplot Stadium went in back in 2020 and did not see football action until the program's first-ever night game in 2024. One season later, Caldwell was hosting NAIA semifinal-caliber football. Now the venue has caught up: Nevco has completed a new video display and scoring installation at Simplot Stadium, announced September 4, 2026 from Edwardsville, IL.

Simplot Stadium is a 4,800-capacity venue near downtown Caldwell, Idaho. Since 2014 it has hosted Yotes football, soccer, and lacrosse, and the football program consistently draws the highest attended games in the NAIA. That crowd was watching a team on the move. The Yotes finished 11-2 last season and won the program's first outright Frontier West Division title. They enter this year ranked No. 4 nationally in the 2026 NAIA preseason poll.

A facilities push to match the record

The Simplot Stadium project is one piece of a larger capital investment across College of Idaho athletics. The list includes new turf at Simplot Stadium and Wolfe Field, court and bleacher replacement at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center, and upgrades to the Aquatic Center. The common thread is a program-wide facilities effort meant to line up with what Yotes teams are doing on the field.

Our program has come a long way in a short time, and it means a lot to have a stadium that reflects that. Nevco has been a great partner through this process, and this new display and scoreboard will give our fans and student-athletes the game-day experience this team has earned. — Reagan Rossi, Vice President of Athletics, The College of Idaho

What went in at Simplot Stadium

At the center of the installation is a 10mm Nevco video display running Nevco One Video Pro software, which handles live action, replays, and graphics for fans on every side of the field. Below it sits a custom football scoreboard finished in purple with Electronic Team Names, keeping score and game details in view. A digital game timer in matching purple with white LED digits rounds out the set. The three pieces work as one game-day system for a program that has moved from surprise story to Frontier Conference contender.

This installation was about giving The College of Idaho a facility that matches the trajectory of this program. From the video display to the scoreboard, every detail was built to support a team that's just getting started. — Alex Brewer, Senior Sports Video Consultant, Nevco

For Yotes players, fans, and the Caldwell community, the result is a unified game-day presentation at a stadium that already fills up on Saturdays. For Nevco, which serves as the Official Scoreboard and Digital Display Provider of the NAIA, the project is another installation at a venue where the crowds were already there and the technology needed to catch up.

ISE 2026 drew a record 92,170 visitors and 1,751 exhibitors to Fira Barcelona Gran Via on Feb. 3-6, 2026, according to Commercial Integrator. AV over IP was the common thread in the product news. Enterprises still put one or two people in meeting rooms built for eight

Enterprises still put one or two people in meeting rooms built for eight

At Enterprise Connect 2026 in Las Vegas, Cisco's Rich Bayes said offices still put one or two people in conference rooms built for eight. Enterprise Connect's Eric Krapf heard the same complaint across the March show. The pattern points to too few small video rooms, not bad hardware, and IT/AV pros are now focusing more on which platforms run in rooms than on camera and microphone choices, according to Enterprise Connect.

  • 01Standardized room builds move the buying decision away from camera and microphone models and toward which platforms run in the room and whether to allow BYOD, according to consultant Andy Howard of Howard Associates.
  • 02If occupancy data shows large rooms routinely hosting one or two people, the evidence from Enterprise Connect 2026 points to adding small video-enabled spaces rather than putting new gear in the big rooms.
  • 03Multi-camera AI directors have grown from two front-of-room cameras to more than six across four walls, per Gartner's Christopher Trueman in No Jitter; David Danto's next step is microphones and cameras hidden in ceiling tiles and picture frames.
