Adonis’ new CPO and first CRO signals AI RCM vendors are shifting from pilots to platform operating models

Adonis has appointed a new Chief Product Officer (CPO) and promoted its first Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), following a successful $40 million Series C funding round and a fourfold increase in revenue. This move underscores a shift among AI RCM vendors, like Adonis, from pilot projects to platform-based operating models. This transition is expected to result in more structured product roadmaps and a strong emphasis on value demonstration for health systems.

Adonis added two C-suite roles on Aug. 19, 2026: Alison Bloom-Kiefer joined as chief product officer, and Doug Pickett was promoted to chief revenue officer, according to the company’s announcement distributed by PR Newswire. For hospital revenue cycle and IT leaders, the personnel move reads less like org-chart housekeeping and more like a signal that the vendor expects larger, more repeatable deployments that demand tighter product execution and a more formal commercial operating model.

Adonis positioned the change as a post-funding step. The company said it raised a $40 million Series C and delivered “more than 4x revenue growth” over the prior year, also via PR Newswire. Those are vendor-provided figures, but they matter operationally because they typically correlate with a shift in how a platform is sold, implemented, supported, and governed across multiple hospitals or service lines.

From “AI can help denials” to “who owns the workflow”

Adonis markets itself as an AI orchestration platform for revenue cycle management. In its Aug. 19 release, CEO Akash Magoon pointed to payer complexity, shifting reimbursement requirements, and denials pressure as the backdrop. That aligns with what most revenue integrity teams are already living: the constraint is rarely a single model’s accuracy, it’s the operational handoff between detection, decisioning, and execution across billing, HIM, clinical documentation, and IT.

A dedicated CPO role often shows up when a vendor needs to make hard choices about what gets built and what gets integrated next. Adonis said Bloom-Kiefer will lead product strategy and execution and help “sharpen roadmap priorities” while reducing operational burden and recovering more revenue. For operators, that tends to translate into clearer answers to practical questions that stall enterprise rollouts: which queues get automated first, which edits remain human-controlled, what gets written back into the EHR or billing system, and how exceptions are handled.

Once an AI RCM tool moves beyond pilots, the hardest question becomes governance: who is allowed to change the workflow, and how does the system prove what it did and why?

Why the first CRO matters to procurement and renewals

Pickett becomes Adonis’ first chief revenue officer after joining nearly three years ago as SVP of Sales, per the company. CRO appointments usually indicate the sales motion is being industrialized: tighter packaging, more standardized implementation services, and more disciplined renewal playbooks. None of that is inherently good or bad. It does, however, change how buyers should structure evaluation and contracting.

If Adonis’ commercial organization is being scaled, health systems should expect more explicit definitions of “value” and, potentially, more pressure to align on baseline metrics early. In AI-assisted RCM, those baselines are often where projects succeed or stall: denial rates by payer and reason code, underpayment recovery timing, and the labor time spent on rework. The vendor’s ROI narrative only holds if the data definitions and extraction methods are locked down across facilities.

Epic ecosystem positioning raises the bar on integration details

Adonis has also announced it is available in Epic Connection Hub, according to a separate PR Newswire release from the company. For Epic-heavy providers, that can matter for two reasons: it can shorten the initial discovery process for integration pathways, and it gives security and IT teams a familiar starting point for assessing how a third-party tool will interact with Epic and related systems.

But Connection Hub availability is not a substitute for integration diligence. AI RCM platforms still live or die on data latency, write-back boundaries, and workflow ownership. Conditional relevance: for systems operating with fragmented payer portals, multiple clearinghouses, or decentralized billing teams, “orchestration” often becomes an integration project as much as a product purchase. That’s where the CPO’s roadmap priorities and the CRO’s implementation standards will be felt first.

The most useful benchmark in AI RCM isn’t a demo, it’s whether a vendor can commit to measurable change in denials and rework using your data definitions across all facilities.

Questions to put on the table before the next AI RCM contract cycle

  • Roadmap and workflow ownership: Which specific denial and underpayment workflows will Adonis productize in the next two quarters, and where does the system stop and a human queue begins? Ask for a workflow map that names system-of-record fields and handoffs.
  • Integration and auditability: If deploying alongside Epic, what data moves through standard Epic interfaces versus custom feeds, and what is the audit trail for each AI-recommended action? Require a description of write-back behavior and exception handling.
  • Baseline metrics for value: Before signing, agree on the exact denial and underpayment baselines, time windows, and payer segmentation used to measure impact. Ensure multi-facility normalization is part of the plan if the rollout spans hospitals or physician groups.
  • Commercial packaging: With a first CRO in place, clarify what is included in implementation services, what is optional, and how changes in claim volume or facility count affect pricing and renewal terms. Ask for a template SOW early.

Suki raises $90M to take its AI scribe beyond note-taking

The funding backs a bet that scribes become clinicians' main AI interface, which changes how health systems evaluate them.

  • 01An ambient scribe already holds the patient context from the visit, and in early testing that context drove clinicians to prefer context-aware UpToDate answers 83% of the time.
  • 02Once a scribe starts answering clinical questions, note accuracy stops being enough to judge it. The Suki and Regenstrief evaluation framework is the marker to watch for metrics that cover answers too.

SCI recruits funeral sales as the career AI cannot replace

SCI's recruiting video positions funeral and cremation sales as a career resistant to automation by emphasizing the human trust required in end-of-life planning. The pitch frames the role as requiring both compassion and sales drive, targets people outside the industry, and leans on demographic demand from an aging population to argue for job stability.

  • 01More than 11,000 Americans turn 65 daily, SCI says demand will grow.
  • 02SCI seeks candidates with dual traits: compassion and empathy alongside sales-oriented drive and tenacity.
  • 03The role requires no prior industry experience; SCI provides training, coaching, and technology to prepare newcomers.
