The truth is that every industry has its issues. After all, people aren’t perfect. However, true industry leaders will do their best to change the status quo and make visible improvements to the market.

With his vast experience in the field of digital and industrial printing, Digitech founder and president Patric Coldewey has seen areas that can use some improvement. Today, he joined Daniel Litwin on the Print Precision podcast to talk about these issues and what needs to be done about them.

Coldewey starts off the podcast with an anecdote that explains why this subject was one he wanted to talk about right now. He explained that too many of his newer customers viewed his company with a sense of distrust.

“It was supposed to be a good experience, but you could just tell they had been abused in the past by other suppliers,” he said.

What brings about this distrust in equipment and service providers? OEM pocketbook draining, manipulative sales tactics and service contracts, servicing responsibilities, and more.

“Everyone wants to be your partner and help you be more successful, but I don’t see those OEMs walking the walk,” Caldeway noted.

But the Digitech founder wanted to do things differently.

“We let the customer know how we make our money and what we do with that,” he said. “You just have to keep earning their business every time.

“Digitech and companies like us just get out there and focus on making the best possible product and treating customers the way that we would like to be treated.”
