Listen: Cyber Security Is A Main Focus At Embedded World 2018

With the emergence of embedded devices within the cybersecurity space, the major focus for manufacturers is complete protection from attack vectors. The key word is complete as the past have revealed some big vulnerabilities in the devices causing a several breaches of classified data including intellectual property and process integrity. One example of this occurred in late 2016 when an attack on the Mirai Botnet overloaded several high-profile targets with massive DDos attacks.

When asked about this, Alexander Müller, a Product Manager for DPI at Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity said that, “to building secure and reliable embedded devices, software vendors need to utilize real-time traffic analytics capabilities in their products that accelerate their ability to stay ahead of the evolving threats in the embedded technologies landscape.” It looks like the next step in ensuring better success with cybersecurity is going to be an increased effort on classification accuracy, optimizing better memory utilization, and of course, faster processing.
