Gabrielsen’s career path was set during middle school after developing an interest in robotics through a club that placed second in a world competition. He spoke recently about a love of engineering and his vision of emerging products and trends that consumers can expect to see.

For example, he sees “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning playing a role in software solutions, and the continuous development of Quantum Computers by industry leaders IBM, Google and Microsoft.” He also emphasized a paradigm shift in terms of “the mobile first approach when it comes to building software solutions” based on the increased power of smart devices. Gabrielsen also mentioned Bitcoin and Blockchain as good examples of emerging trends in the tech industry.

Meanwhile, his company is involved in several transportation projects and mentioned that they are working with “parkhub to implement better parking solutions” and that “we have also worked with airlines to increase efficiency and scalability.”

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, as a thought leader in the software industry Gabrielsen has several intriguing views regarding the innovations the world may see on the horizon.

He mentions Quantum Computing, for instance, saying that “in the next 10 years I see Quantum computing playing a huge role in the way we use computers. Not only will this make certain computations increasingly fast, but it will also play a helping hand in curing diseases that today’s computers can’t even simulate, such as cancer. It will disrupt banking and other security forms as it can break encryption in a matter of seconds. I think that we will begin to see more and more companies invest money, talent, and time into Quantum Computing so that they can be on the forefront of that change.”

No one has a perfect understanding of the future, especially in the constantly evolving world of technology, but the views of a software engineer with Gabrielsen’s talent and experience can’t be ignored.
