Use a viewing link to let a recipient watch or listen. A public link can be forwarded; it does not make its recipient a channel member.
Before you start
Confirm the asset is approved for the intended audience and that you can manage its sharing. Select the correct completed version before creating a public link.
Steps
Step 1. Open the asset’s sharing controls. For completed media, review the public-link options. For a working cut, use Copy view-only link when offered; use Open Media Studio to continue an edit.
Step 2. For a completed-media link, set Allow downloads intentionally. When enabled, the recipient can download the offered MP4 video or MP3 audio.
Step 3. Choose Create link if no link exists. Then choose Copy link and confirm the Copied feedback.
Step 4. Choose Open preview and check the title, selected media and download availability. For an external recipient, also test the link without relying on your signed-in channel access.
Step 5. Share the copied link with the intended audience. Keep review feedback in the appropriate Studio workflow if you still need an edit or approval.
Step 6. To stop access through this public link, choose Turn off link and confirm “Turn this link off?” Check the old URL after the change.
Check the result
The link should open the intended version and show downloads only if enabled. Changing Allow downloads on an existing link is applied when you change the setting; wait for success and recheck the preview.
If something does not work
No public-link controls: verify completed-media status and your permission to manage the link.
A saving error: the setting can return to its previous value. Reopen and verify it before sharing.
Turning off a link does not retract files someone already downloaded. Ask the owner for the right audience before enabling downloads.
