Choose a readable text format for review or a timed subtitle format for caption workflows. The right format depends on what you will do with the file.
Before you start
Use a media item with a ready transcript and permission to access it. Confirm the source/version; a bundle can contain more than one transcript.
Steps
Step 1. Open the media in Media Studio and open Transcript.
Step 2. If there are multiple source files or versions, select the intended one. Check a few words against the recording to confirm it is the right transcript.
Step 3. Review names, product terms and numbers. If authorized to edit, choose a segment’s Edit icon, correct the text and Save before exporting.
Step 4. Choose Download and select PDF for a readable document, TXT for plain text, SRT for timed subtitles, or VTT for WebVTT captions.
Step 5. Save the downloaded file, then open it. Confirm it contains the intended text rather than only trusting the filename.
Step 6. For SRT or VTT, test the subtitle file with the matching video and check the first and last cues for timing. For text reuse without a file, choose Copy All.
Check the result
The export should open in the intended tool and match the selected media. Keep the original video and subtitle file paired when distributing them.
If something does not work
The download is unavailable: wait for a usable transcript and recheck the selected source.
Subtitles drift: verify the transcript belongs to the same video edit and duration. Do not reuse timings from a longer source for a newly trimmed clip.
An export contains an error: correct the source transcript if you have access, then download again; check whether the finished video’s embedded captions need a separate revision.
