Use the transcript to locate spoken content and prepare accurate written material. Check it against the recording, especially for names, numbers and specialist terminology.
Before you start
Open the correct Media Studio item and selected source/version. Transcript processing must be complete; editing controls require permission and an editable transcript.
Steps
Step 1. Open the Transcript panel for the intended media. For a bundle or multiple source files, confirm which file is selected before editing or exporting.
Step 2. Enter a distinctive word or phrase in Search. Review the matching segments. When timestamps are present, select a segment or timestamp to check that passage in the recording.
Step 3. For a correction, choose the segment’s Edit icon. Change the text, then choose Save for that segment. Use Cancel if you do not want to keep the change.
Step 4. Repeat for other errors, listening to the source where wording is uncertain. Do not turn an unclear quote into a new claim.
Step 5. Use Copy All to copy the transcript and check the Copied feedback, or choose Download and select PDF, TXT, SRT or VTT.
Step 6. Open the downloaded file and check its content. For SRT/VTT, confirm the timestamps and test the captions with the corresponding video.
Check the result
Saved segment changes should remain when you reopen the transcript. Confirm the exported text belongs to the intended media and version.
If something does not work
No transcript yet: check media processing/readiness. Not every asset has a ready transcript immediately.
No Edit icon: the transcript may be read-only for your role or its source type. Ask the owner for the correct correction workflow.
Search finds text but no playable timestamp: a plain text transcript may not have timed segments.
Correcting transcript text does not by itself prove that captions burned into an existing video changed. Review the video and request a revision if necessary.
