If you've ever wondered where a file should be stored in MarketScale, you're not alone. The platform offers five primary storage locations, each with a specific purpose. Understanding these can help your team stop asking "where did we put the X" and start working efficiently. Here's your decision tree guide.
Brand Books: Editing Standards for Visual Identity
Brand Books house logos, fonts, colors, intros, outros, and design standards. Editors consult the Brand Book for every project to ensure the right visual identity is applied. If you're attaching a logo to each edit request, it's time to store it in the Brand Book instead.
Folders: Organize Raw Content by Project
Folders act as project containers, with one folder per topic, event, or campaign. Store all raw clips, screenshots, and reference materials for a project here to keep them organized. Folders are your go-to when working on projects; they contain the working set for future edit requests. Without folders, raw content can easily get lost.
Sales Team Materials: Share Finished Content Externally
Once a video is edited, approved, and ready for sharing, it belongs in Sales Team Materials. This section serves as a showroom, with content packaged into Collections for sales follow-ups, recruiter outreach, or event recaps. It's the link between produced content and team members who need to share it with customers, prospects, or candidates. Only finished assets should be stored here.
Saved Orders: Templates for Consistent Video Series
Saved Orders capture a successful edit configuration so future videos in the same series maintain a consistent look. Once an episode is perfected (including intro, lower thirds, music, and color), save it as a Saved Order. Future episodes can then use this template, ensuring visual consistency across the series without the need to rewrite the same edit brief repeatedly.
Try It This Week
Open MarketScale and audit your current content locations. Are finished assets in Sales Team Materials, or are they still in folders? Do recurring series have a Saved Order set up? Are raw submissions being moved from Raw Footage to project folders? Spending twenty minutes on cleanup now can save weeks of time later.
