Search lets you find anything in your workspace from one place: videos, people, folders, transcripts, posts, tasks, requests, recording rooms, and more. This guide walks you through how to get the most out of it.

Where to Find Search

The search bar is in the top navigation on every content page. You will see a text field with the prompt "What are you looking for?" on the dashboard, or "Search" on other pages.

Click into the search bar or just start typing to begin.

Note: The search bar does not appear on the main dashboard feed. The feed is your discovery view for browsing content. Search is where you go when you already know what you are looking for.

What You Can Search

Search reaches across your entire workspace. Here is what it covers:

How to Search

Step 1. Click the search bar in the top navigation.

Step 2. Type your keyword, name, topic, or phrase. Results begin appearing as you type.

Step 3. Review the results. For transcript matches, you will see the matched text highlighted directly in the results card so you can read the context before clicking through.

Step 4. Click any result to go directly to that item.

Using Filters

After running a search, you can use filters to narrow your results:

You can combine multiple filters at the same time. For example, search for "onboarding" and then filter by a specific folder and editing status to find exactly the clip you need.

Tips for Better Results

Be specific. Searching for "Q3 product demo" will give you more targeted results than just "demo."

Search by what was said. If you remember a phrase from a video but not the title, type that phrase. Transcript search will find it.

Search for people. Need to find everything a specific teammate has created? Type their name, then click through to their profile to see all their content.

Use filters after searching. Start broad, then narrow down. Filters work best when you have a set of results to refine.

FAQ

How quickly are new items searchable?

Immediately. Every time content is created or updated, it is indexed in real time. There is no delay or manual refresh needed.

Can I see results from other channels?

No. Search is scoped to your channel only. You will only ever see results from your own workspace.

Why don't I see the search bar on my dashboard feed?

The dashboard feed is designed as a browsing and discovery experience. Search appears on all other pages. Navigate to any content page (Folders, Tasks, Inbox, or a profile) to access the search bar.

What if I can't find what I'm looking for?

Try different keywords or phrases. If you remember something that was said in a video, search for that exact phrase. You can also try broadening your search and then using filters to narrow down. If you still can't find it, reach out to your admin or reach out to your MarketScale lead.
