Visionary's AV-over-IP gear now has a tested route into tvONE video walls
tvONE engineers tested Visionary's 5 Series network video endpoints with tvONE's video wall processors, including 4K video over a gigabit network.

Key takeaways
Two HDMI hand-offs now have tests behind them for Visionary 5 Series and CALICO PRO.
4K video over a gigabit network passed in the configurations tvONE evaluated.
The stated use case is sources spread across a network feeding one central processor.

Under the partnership, tvONE's CALICO PRO video processors work with Visionary's 5 Series AV-over-IP platform, tvONE said in a release published on October 21, 2026.
The plumbing is simple. 5 Series Decoders take video off the network and feed HDMI into CALICO PRO inputs. Then the processor's HDMI outputs feed 5 Series Encoders, which put the processed picture back on the network so other displays can show it.
Scott Freshman, Visionary's chief operating officer, put it in integrator terms in the release: integrators need to know how products behave across the whole signal path, and this partnership gives them a validated link between Visionary's distribution and CALICO PRO's processing.
What tvONE's engineers put on the bench
tvONE's engineering team ran Visionary endpoints against its own input and output modules. The tests covered four areas:
- Resolutions
- Frame rates
- Extended Display Identification Data (EDID)
- Visual image quality
According to tvONE, its engineering team ran Visionary endpoints through tests with tvONE's input and output modules, checking resolutions, frame rates, EDID and visual image quality. Those tests confirmed the products interoperate in each configuration evaluated, including carrying 4K video over a gigabit network.
EDID is the data a display or input reports back to a source to say which resolutions and timings it accepts. When one device sits in the middle of the chain, as a video wall processor does, EDID handling at each hand-off decides whether a source sends a picture the next device can use.
The release says interoperability was confirmed "across the evaluated configurations", and that phrase draws the line. For integrators, that suggests a design that stays within those configurations could rely on the testing, while one that goes beyond them would likely put the integrator back on the test bench. Pro AVL Asia's report says interoperability was confirmed across the configurations tested.
The control room layout it targets
The stated use case is the control room. Sources sit in different places on the network and all feed one central processor. The 5 Series handles transport between the source locations, the processor and any remote displays.
Bob Bonniol, chief innovation officer at ACT Entertainment, spoke for the CALICO PRO side. In the release, he said the processor was built to simplify complex signal environments and that this integration carries that into networked AV-over-IP setups. Integrators, in his framing, now have a way to feed Visionary's distributed sources into a wall and send the processed output to displays across a facility.
Visionary, founded in 1995 and formerly known as Visionary Solutions, Inc., lists enterprise, education, healthcare, government, professional AV, cable, broadband and broadcast among its markets.
If a design goes beyond the configurations tvONE evaluated, Freshman's point still holds: someone has to prove the whole signal path works, and for that part of the design it will be the integrator.
