Watch: Delta tightens restrictions on support animals

Citing soiled cabins and biting incidents, Delta is requiring passengers with support animals to provide paperwork. The new rules begin March 1 and require passengers to show proof of health and vaccinations 48 hours ahead of takeoff. Further, travelers will be required to sign a document affirming their animal will behave. The rise in serious incidents involving animals in flight leads us to believe that the lack of regulation in both health and training screening for these animals is creating unsafe conditions across U.S. air travel. Delta believes some passengers aren’t following the intent of support animal laws, with some bringing turkeys, gliding possums, spiders, and more on board.
