Shedding Light on the Upcoming Safety 2022 Conference and Expo

The Safety 2022 Conference and Expo is just around the corner. This year’s event will be held June 27-29 at McCormick Place (West) in Chicago, IL. Lauren Bauerschmidt, Manager of Standards Development for ASSP, and Stephanie Gurnari, Volunteer Leader for ASSP, joined the Safety Justice League to shed some light on the much-anticipated event.

This year’s conference will have myriad learning opportunities for safety professionals of all experience levels. And while the conference is in-person this year, there is still the opportunity to attend if people cannot make the trip virtually. And while some of the big soirees of conferences past might not occur this year, there will still be lots of excitement for attendees.

“There will be an event on Monday night (June 27) that people can attend,” Bauerschmidt said. “And because we’re going to be in Chicago this year, we’re right on the lake, and it’s going to be outside. There’s going to be food, music, and stuff. So, I’m looking forward to that. This is an opportunity for everyone to come together and connect.”

Conferences like Safety 2022 are integral to ASSP’s mission, and Bauerschmidt and Gurnari were excited about what ASSP hopes to accomplish at this year’s event. But safety first and foremost. COVID-19 vaccinations or proof of a negative test are requirements to attend this year’s show. The show will not require boosters for entry. Masks are welcomed but not mandatory this year.

And what about the Justice League? Do they have anything special planned for the conference? It may be too early to tell, but rumors persist they could be up to something. Folks may want to stake out The Banana Room at Reggie’s Rock Club at 6:30 on Tuesday, June 28, just in case.
