Tech Data systems at Sharetec 2018

The Sharetec Conference 2018 will be held in San Antonio from September 17 to September 19, and Tech Data Systems is gearing up to participate in a big way! We look forward to being part of an event that features a fun but well-organized venue and offers us a chance to connect with potential clients and other professionals in the industry. Tech Data Systems will be hosting workshop sessions and demonstrating some of our most innovative products.

Sharetec Overview

An industry leader in the development of credit union software, Sharetec was founded in 1994 and maintains a national software development center outside Minneapolis, Minnesota. Each year they sponsor this event with a desire to gather thought leaders in the field to showcase their products and services and connect and grow together. Our team couldn’t be happier to represent Tech Data System’s high-quality products this year at the Marriott River Center, where attendees will participate in workshops and training sessions featuring topics relevant to their needs and interests. Stop by Booth #3, say hello, and learn about some of our products.

ARCA Cash Recycler

Tech Data Systems will have an ARCA CM18 Solo Cash Recycler on hand to demonstrate its impressive features. Designed for an individual user, the CM18 Solo TCR is a right size, right fit for many branches. Cash recycling isn’t a product or a service — it’s a holistic approach to cash management that impacts every process and person in a financial institution.

NCR Workshops

The team at Tech Data Systems will also be presenting two workshop sessions. The first will be in room 11 at 1:15 on Monday 9/17. The following day, we will be in room 11 at 11:30 on Tuesday, 9/18. Here, NCR will present their ITM solution. NCR Interactive Teller uses the ATM and smart video-based technology to connect banking consumers with a remote teller in a highly personalized two-way audio and video interaction. The remote teller offers a diversity of services, including check cashing, bill payment, account to account transfers, and loan initiation among others.

Canon Check Scanners

We will have a CR-120 check scanner on display. This scanner is the ideal solution for credit unions. It offers a robust, high speed, high quality scanner with a small foot print giving the CR-120 the ability to work either back counter / branch capture, teller capture or RDC.

Technique Data Systems is focused on delivering Payment Solutions, Cash Automation, and Branch Automation through Deposit Automated ATM’s, Cash Recycling and Self-Service hardware to our customers in the United States. We hope you’ll come by Booth #3 and see how we can help streamline and automate your cash and payment solutions.

NYC schools require every AI tool to pass a bias and equity review before deployment

Twenty-nine New York City council members are demanding a two-year halt to AI use in the nation's largest school system, citing student data privacy gaps. Simultaneously, California and other states are tightening AI bias-audit requirements for employers, while educators debate a deeper question: whether AI adopted without guardrails erodes the original human thinking it is meant to support.

  • 01Twenty-nine NYC council members sent a letter on June 9, 2026, calling for a two-year AI moratorium in city schools, citing inadequate student data privacy protections in the Department of Education's drafted guidance.
  • 02California's Civil Rights Council AI regulations, effective Oct. 1, 2025, require employers using automated decision systems to retain related data for four years and face heightened litigation risk if they skip bias audits.
  • 03Educators and practitioners are wrestling with a fundamental design question: whether AI functions as a 'calculator'—executing tasks users already understand—or a 'crane' that extends human capacity into genuinely new territory.
