All Roads Lead to Data with Business Owner Patrick Guerra

As a Managing Partner at AppGuerra, LLC, Patrick Guerra is surrounded by data. With a focus on information technologies and services, Guerra has been involved in the industry for decades now.

“I found I had a knack for technology in the late 90’s,” Guerra said. “So I started training office applications which led to jobs as an application administrator, network administrator, and any other role that needed filling.”

Throughout his years in the industry, Guerra has seen continued data dependence from small business owners and major distribution companies alike.

“Data, Data, Data– All roads lead to data,” he said. “Identifying, managing and protecting data has become a primary business focus.”

With that data comes the task of sorting it efficiently enough to benefit businesses. Interpreting data is a problem for many businesses and extrapolating the most relevant data can be overwhelming. Guerra and his clients, however, remain proactive when it comes to data solutions.

“I’m working with a major medical device manufacturer that has data spread across many systems,” he said. “This company is working to replicate the data from these systems into a single data bank to make reporting seamless and efficient.”

The relationship between data gathering and business owners will continue evolve in complexity. Security remains an important issue in this everchanging data driven environment. The vulnerabilities of data servers and cloud-based systems will continue to be a cause of concern for companies, but Guerra acknowledges that once security concerns are addressed, data management will inevitably continue to provide benefits for companies across industries.

“Data management and Data protection will continue to be a priority,” Guerra said. “Companies and individuals that develop processes and applications that provide simplicity will bring great value to the marketplace.”
