Cvent is tightening the connection between booth lead capture and executive meeting scheduling with three product updates shipping to its iCapture and Jifflenow platforms between August 5 and August 19, 2026. The changes, detailed in a release note published August 4 by the Cvent Product News Team, address a friction point that event operations leaders know well: the gap between a visitor scanning a badge at a kiosk and a sales rep actually sitting down with that prospect.

From kiosk scan to meeting request in one step

The first update, released August 5, adds a "Request a Meeting" option inside iCapture Kiosk for customers who also use Jifflenow. According to the Cvent release, a booth visitor can now submit a meeting request while still engaging with the exhibit team, and that request flows directly into Jifflenow's scheduling workflow for review and confirmation.

The operational logic is straightforward: interest captured at peak engagement, rather than hours or days later through a follow-up email, is more likely to convert. The integration removes the manual step of routing a lead note from one system to another, a handoff that routinely introduces delay and data loss between exhibit staff and the inside sales or account teams who own follow-up.

The gap between a badge scan and a booked meeting is where most trade show pipeline leaks out. Closing that gap at the kiosk is the right place to start.

A daily lead digest to accelerate post-show follow-up

The second iCapture update, expected August 19, introduces a Daily Lead Action Report. Per the Cvent release, the report summarizes the previous day's lead activity, giving sales and event teams a consolidated view of which contacts need attention without requiring them to pull data from multiple sources each morning.

For enterprise exhibitors running multi-day shows with large booth teams, the daily digest addresses a common operations failure: leads captured on day one losing priority by day three because no structured review process exists. The report is designed to become a daily habit, not an end-of-show scramble.

Together, the two iCapture updates reflect a broader push by Cvent to move its trade show tools further into the revenue operations workflow, not just the event-logistics layer. Faster follow-up cadences are a consistent driver of pipeline conversion, and both features reduce the time between first contact and next step.

Location Assignment gives schedulers the full picture

On the Jifflenow side, the August 14 update renames and expands the feature formerly called Mappings to Location Assignment. The substantive change: canceled meetings now remain visible within the Location Assignment view alongside active bookings. According to the Cvent release, this lets event teams, location managers, and schedulers review the complete scheduling history for a space, including when it was reserved, when plans changed, and what is currently booked, without reconstructing that timeline from separate system views.

At large trade shows where executive meeting suites, hospitality rooms, and private demo spaces are managed across dozens of concurrent time slots, incomplete location records create coordination errors. A cancellation that disappears from the view can lead a scheduler to double-book or leave a slot unnecessarily dark. Retaining the full history in one place reduces both risks.

The Cvent release also notes that Jifflenow release dates will diverge slightly from the main Cvent product cadence in the near term as the company continues to align its development cycles across the trade show solutions portfolio. Enterprise teams managing Cvent contracts should account for that timing variability when planning deployments around specific event dates.

What this means for your team

  • Review your iCapture Kiosk configuration before your next show to confirm Jifflenow integration is active and that exhibit staff understand the new meeting-request flow.
  • Identify who on your sales or event team will own the Daily Lead Action Report and build a response protocol so the digest drives action rather than sitting unread.
  • If your team manages high-volume meeting suites or private rooms through Jifflenow, audit your Location Assignment setup to confirm canceled-meeting visibility is working as expected after the August 14 update.
  • Check the Cvent Community open forum for release-specific Q&A, particularly given the note that Jifflenow's release cadence is temporarily offset from the main Cvent schedule.

2.2 million temp workers a week in 2024 is now a baseline for workforce plans

2.2 million temp workers a week in 2024 is now a baseline for workforce plans

According to the American Staffing Association, nearly 2.2 million temporary and contract employees worked for America’s staffing companies during an average week in 2024, and staffing provided job and career opportunities for about 11 million employees that year. Staffing Industry Analysts’ September 2026 research listings include a “US Staffing Industry Forecast: September 2026 Update” dated Sept. 1, 2026 and a “SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator” report dated Sept. 1, 2026, indicating regular, time-stamped benchmarking. For operations, IT, and procurement leaders, it can help to separate weekly deployed headcount from annual hires, because each metric answers a different question about capacity and hiring volume.

  • 01A useful internal benchmark is “weekly deployed contingent headcount,” because ASA’s 2.2 million average-week figure (2024) maps to what sites actually supervise, badge, train, and keep safe, not just what firms hire over a year.
  • 02ASA’s occupational mix (36% industrial, 11% engineering/IT/scientific, 8% health care) indicates contingent labor is not confined to peak-season labor, it reaches regulated and higher-skill roles where access control, system entitlements, and credentialing become the bottleneck.
  • 03If contingent programs are global, SIA’s editorial focus on “think local” requirements (Sept. 2, 2026) is a reminder that the hardest work is often local onboarding and compliance variation, even when sourcing and reporting are centralized.

Remote rolls out a global HRIS as one system of record

Remote rolls out a global HRIS as one system of record

Remote said its purpose-built Remote HRIS is now available worldwide, adding a core system of record to the company’s global payroll, employer-of-record and contractor tools, according to Business Wire. The rollout lands as Remote reported more than 300% year-over-year growth in its payroll business, $300M in annual recurring revenue and cash-flow positivity, and introduced partner-facing infrastructure such as Remote MCP for AI agents, according to PR Newswire. For enterprise operators, the practical shift is consolidation: fewer bolt-on point tools for onboarding, compliance, performance and global payroll, but a higher bar for identity, integration and governance because HR data, payments rails and compliance rules now sit in one stack. The operational consequence shows up in integration backlogs, access-control design, and vendor evaluation criteria, especially for companies hiring across multiple countries where compliance updates and offboarding controls are as critical as payroll accuracy.

  • 01Remote is positioning its HRIS as the system of record for global employment, not a bolt-on EOR, and that changes how buyers should write HR and payroll integration requirements.
  • 02A global HRIS only pays off if identity, device lifecycle and offboarding are governed like IT operations, because access removal, final pay, and local documents must close together.
  • 03Vendor choice is getting noisier: SHRM’s vendor directory for HCM technology software lists many options, a reminder that consolidation decisions should be driven by data flows and compliance scope, not feature checklists.
