Turn one long recording into several focused answers. Each clip should make sense without requiring the viewer to watch the full recording first.
Before you start
Use a processed source video in Media Studio. Read its transcript or watch it to identify complete thoughts. Decide the audience and destination for each clip.
Steps
Step 1. Write a three-row clip plan: working title, source start/end, intended format and any editing notes. For example: “Inspection steps — 02:10 to 03:05 — 9:16 — keep the gauge visible.”
Step 2. Open Request Variation → Social clip. Choose a Suggested moment or enter the first clip’s From and To using MM:SS or HH:MM:SS.
Step 3. Choose Preview clip. Check that the opening establishes context and the ending does not cut off a sentence.
Step 4. Set Format, captions, Intro/Outro and Style reference for this clip. Add precise Editor notes when it needs a crafted edit.
Step 5. Choose Request variation, or Create clip when Studio offers the simple automatic-trim path. Wait for the new work item or clip result.
Step 6. Return to the original recording and repeat for clips two and three. Keep each range and brief separate so feedback can be applied to the right deliverable.
Step 7. Review each finished clip independently, including captions and claims. Publish or share only the approved versions.
Check the result
You should have three distinct, reviewable deliverables linked to the source. A source preview or a requested variation is not a finished clip.
If something does not work
No Suggested moments: enter ranges manually; timestamped transcripts are needed for suggestions.
The automatic clip is still processing: reopen Request Variation to inspect its status and use Open clip when ready.
The excerpt loses context: extend the range or ask the editor for an introduction; do not add a claim the speaker did not make.
