Global leader in investments and insurance, Starr Companies, recently announced a sponsoring partnership with the New York Yankees. Now, the historic MLB team will name Starr the “Official Commercial Insurance Company of the New York Yankees,” starting this season. Starr CEO and chairman, Maurice R. Greenberg, says the partnership is an honor. Yankee’s vice president of partnerships, Bryan Calka, noted the prestige of Starr Companies and expressed excitement for the new collaboration on behalf of the team.
The partnership was officially started at an employee reception on March 12th, where ex-Yankees shortstop, Bucky Dent, helped CEO Maurice Greenberg make the announcement. Dent was responsible for a homerun that shot the Yankees toward the 1978 World Series win.
Fans can expect to see plenty of Starr Companies throughout the stadium, with a presence on multiple scoreboards, TVs in the stadium, Terrace LED screens, and a full-page ad in each and every Yankees Magazine. A major aspect of the deal was the celebration of Starr’s 100th year with presence in China at a Yankees game sometime in 2019. Excitement is shared as the two global leaders in their respective fields kick off a strong partnership.
