Amazon has made Uber Eats its restaurant delivery partner for Prime members in the U.S., replacing the Grubhub+ benefit it had offered since 2022. Starting November 5, Prime members can order restaurant delivery directly on Amazon.com and in the Amazon Shopping app, powered by Uber Eats, with a $0 delivery fee on orders of $25 or more.

Orders run on existing Amazon accounts and payment methods, with no new app, Uber account or credentials required, according to the joint announcement from Amazon and Uber. The benefit covers all Prime members, including those on the half-price Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access memberships, and reaches nearly ten thousand cities and towns.

What changes for restaurants

For restaurant operators already on Uber Eats, the deal adds a new storefront: Amazon's own site and shopping app. The companies said Prime members can choose from hundreds of thousands of restaurants on the Uber Eats delivery network, naming national chains such as Wingstop, Chipotle and Sweetgreen alongside independents including Aga's Restaurant in Houston and Papalote Mexican Grill in San Francisco.

We're excited to connect our restaurant community with new Prime fans, while giving Prime members a seamless way to enjoy great food from restaurants through Uber Eats. — Andrew Macdonald, President and COO, Uber

Launch promotions

To drive early orders, Prime members can get $20 off their first two Uber Eats orders of $25 or more within the first 14 days. Prime Visa cardmembers earn 5% back on Uber Eats orders through December 5, 2026. Members can also share the waived delivery fees with one adult in their household through Amazon Family.

Jamil Ghani, Amazon's worldwide vice president of Prime, said the benefit adds "even more value on restaurant delivery with Uber Eats, all in a single membership." Amazon estimates members could save more than $175 per year, based on typical Uber Eats order frequency compared with ordering on Uber Eats directly without an Uber One membership.

The end of the Grubhub arrangement

Amazon's commercial agreement with Grubhub, which gave Prime members access to Grubhub+, ended on November 5, an Amazon spokesperson told TechCrunch, adding that the company continuously evaluates its third-party offers. A Grubhub spokesperson also confirmed the agreement was ending, TechCrunch reported.

Amazon first offered Prime members a free Grubhub+ subscription in 2022 and expanded the agreement two years later to make it an ongoing Prime benefit. Amazon and Uber already work together on cloud computing, Zoox robotaxis and Uber Eats ordering through Alexa+, TechCrunch noted.

Wendy's rejects $1.4 billion take-private bid from Trian-led group, adopts poison pill

Wendy's independent board committee unanimously rejected a non-binding $7.35-per-share, roughly $1.4 billion proposal from a group of Trian Partners, franchisee Flynn Group, BlueFive Capital and Sixth Street Partners, saying it substantially undervalues the company and its Dave's Way turnaround plan. The board also adopted a shareholder rights plan with a 15% threshold that expires on November 3, 2027.

Two of six shortlisted Slovenian private-label food makers changed owners in 2026

Two of six shortlisted Slovenian private-label food makers changed owners in 2026

A buyer guide shortlists six Slovenian private-label food makers, from Incom Leone ice cream to plant-based specialist Organa, without claiming they control the country's output. In 2026 AGRANA bought Fruit Emba and Atlantic Grupa bought Osem, so supplier files need updating.

  • 01AGRANA completed its Fruit Emba deal on April 23, 2026 and Atlantic Grupa completed its Osem deal on August 31, 2026, so supplier records for those two plants may need new ownership details.
  • 02Register income figures for these firms are company-wide. Incom's €189.49m includes its own Leone brand, so it says nothing about how much private-label capacity is actually free.

GLP-1 shoppers push frozen meal tray choices to the start of development

GLP-1 shoppers push frozen meal tray choices to the start of development

GLP-1 users want smaller, protein-dense frozen meals, and that demand is pushing frozen processors and tray suppliers to make packaging decisions earlier. The tray is becoming part of the recipe. Speed to market increasingly depends on whether a tray runs on existing sealing lines and holds up from freezer to microwave.

  • 01In a portion-controlled frozen entrée, tray choice belongs in the same development meeting as the recipe, because a tray that needs retooling or warps on reheat delays the SKU.
