Material breakage is a persistent challenge for factories that rely on conveyor systems to shuttle ingredients within a production facility. It’s a costly problem that negatively impacts the bottom line in the form of wasted materials, expensive maintenance interventions, and unprofitable equipment downtime. To solve the breakage issue, Cablevey Conveyors has engineered a tubular drag and cable conveyor system that utilizes cables and discs to gently transport materials along their intended paths. The system proves effective in moving fragile items such as barley, seeds, cereals, and coffee beans without bumping, battering, stress or friction in order to minimize breakage. So it’s only natural that when Nippon Coffee Trading Co., headquartered in Osaka, Japan, was seeking a solution for delicately conveying its green coffee, the company turned to Cablevey.

Green coffee beans are an extremely fragile ingredient that is known to be much harder to move than whole bean coffee. The cable conveyor system minimizes financial losses that result as a consequence of breakage and degradation.

Food safety is a high priority for Nippon Coffee and its Japanese consumers. Cablevey’s enclosed tubing eliminates opportunities for elements within the environment to contaminate the beans.
