Folders are your workspace for organizing, finding, and acting on media in MarketScale Studio. Create nested folders, preview files in a docked inspector, search within a folder, and kick off projects, all without leaving the page.

Why Folders Matter

Folders help you keep your content organized and easy to act on:

MarketScale replaces scattered tools with one scalable, self-serve hub.

Adding Media to Folders

There are several ways to add media to a folder. A file can belong to more than one folder at the same time; adding it to multiple places never creates duplicates.

Two common ways to add media:

Pro tip: To remove a file from a folder, use the three-dot menu on the media card and choose Remove from Folder. Your media stays safe in Studio.

Drag to upload: Drop files from your computer directly onto a folder on the Folders page. Files go through the full pipeline (thumbnail processing, AI summary, transcription, and the approval inbox) and land in that folder automatically.

The Folders Page

Open Folders from the navigation bar. The page is divided into two tabs:

Select any tile to preview all the content in that folder.

Each folder card shows a preview mosaic of recent content, item count, and last activity. Use the search bar to find a folder by name, or the Sort dropdown to reorder by date created, last modified, or name.

Favorites, Rename, Combine, Delete

These features will help you stay organized:

Folders are easy to reorganize at any time. Your media is always safe.

Starting a Project from a Folder

Inside a folder, you can cherry-pick exactly the files or clips you want before sending to editing:

Subfolders

Nest folders inside folders to organize by campaign, event, series, or topic. Use Create Subfolder inside any folder to add a new level. Breadcrumb navigation keeps you oriented as you drill down, and a single click takes you back instantly.

You can also drag a media file onto an empty area inside a folder to create a subfolder and file the asset in one step.

The Media Inspector

Click any file or project inside a folder to open the Media Inspector, a panel that docks to the right side of the page. You stay in the folder view while you:

Use the ← / β†’ arrow keys to navigate between items without closing the inspector.

Selecting Across Folders

The collector bar at the bottom of the page lets you build a working set from multiple folders before acting. It stays with you as you navigate.

If a file appears in both a parent folder and a subfolder, the collector counts it only once and will note the de-duplication.
