Transcript
Hi there. So I'm gonna go over how to request an audio soundbite or a podcast soundbite from your media in Studio. So really quickly, I'm gonna go through two ways of doing this. One is the preferred way of doing it, which would be more of a streamlined way of getting it to you sooner, and then there's another way to do it, requesting it via the coach as well. So if you go into your media studio, as you could see here, we are, within the studio here. As you can see, here's our main feed studio, link down here in the media studio, button here. We're gonna click there. And then we're gonna go into the actual request at a now button here. So this is where you can request your, your audio byte. So if you were to, you know, select your brand book, all of your details here like you normally would for request. And then CrafterClip is where you would, let us know, I would like a audio sound bite from this video. And then this will be part of your crafting your clip, direction for us to add an m p three to this, video, request. So once you fill that out, you fill on all the details, and then let's create, and then that's gonna be something that'll come back to you within this request. There's a second way to do this as well. I'm gonna exit out of here. And you should receive that audio sound bite back in here with a second version. If you go back to your main feed, you will see also the comments below. So maybe you forgot to request that within your sound bite. There's also a way to even tag us below and say, hey. I forgot, to add that into our media request, tagging the coach as, like myself here, tagging us and saying, hey. I'd like to add an audio, sound bite request for this video. So that just lets us know that you're looking to do just an m p three, file, and we'll send that back to you yourself as well. If you're wanting to do a little bit more when it comes to cuts and those types of things, Media Studio is a place to go. But if need be, we're always here to help you and guide you, and, we can also work with you in regards to direction for those videos and those, audio sound bites wins once you get those back.
Overview
In this 2-minute training, contributor David Dabney walks through the two available methods for requesting an MP3 audio cut from a video inside MarketScale Studio. The video focuses on when and how to use each method, starting with the preferred in-platform workflow and ending with a backup option for after-the-fact requests. By the end, users will know exactly how to surface an audio or podcast-ready version of their video content.
What Is This?
An audio or podcast cut is an MP3 version of a video segment, extracted and formatted so it can be distributed as standalone audio content — ideal for podcast feeds, internal sharing, or repurposing video into an audio-first format.
What You'll Learn
- Understand why requesting an audio cut extends the reach of your existing video content
- Navigate to the correct video in Media Studio to initiate an edit request
- Use the Request Edit Now button to open and complete a content brief
- Specify an audio sound bite request in the Craft Your Clip field of the brief
- Identify when to use the backup method — tagging your coach in the feed
- Differentiate between the preferred workflow and the after-the-fact request process
Key Insights
- The preferred method for requesting an audio cut is to open Media Studio on the relevant video and submit a brief via Request Edit Now — this keeps the request organized and tied directly to the source asset
- The Craft Your Clip field in the edit brief is where you specify that you want an audio sound bite, so being clear and descriptive in that field helps production deliver accurately
- If a video has already been published and you missed the brief stage, you can still request an audio cut by tagging your coach in the feed comments below the video card
- Keeping audio requests inside the platform — rather than through email or chat — ensures the request is tracked, attributed, and delivered through the standard production workflow
Deep Dive
Repurposing video content into audio is one of the most efficient ways to extend the value of material you have already produced. A single well-recorded video segment can become a podcast episode, an audio clip for social distribution, or a shareable sound bite — all without scheduling additional recording time. MarketScale Studio is built to support this kind of multi-format content strategy, and requesting an audio cut is a straightforward process once you know the two available paths.
The preferred method begins inside Media Studio. Once you locate the video you want to pull audio from, you select Request Edit Now to open the edit brief. This brief is the central document that guides production, and the Craft Your Clip field is where specificity matters most. Writing something clear — such as 'I would like an audio sound bite from this video' along with any relevant timestamps or thematic guidance — gives the production team exactly what they need to deliver the right output.
The backup method exists for situations where a video has already moved through the workflow and a brief was never submitted. In these cases, you can tag your coach directly in the feed comments below the video card. While this method works, it introduces a less structured handoff and may take longer to process, which is why the in-brief request is consistently recommended as the first choice.
Understanding both methods means you are never without a path forward. Whether you are planning ahead during the edit stage or realizing after publication that an audio version would be valuable, Studio gives you the tools to make that request without leaving the platform or relying on informal communication channels.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where exactly do I request an audio cut inside MarketScale Studio?
Navigate to the relevant video inside Media Studio and click the Request Edit Now button to open the edit brief. In the Craft Your Clip field, write that you would like an audio sound bite from the video, including any timing or content guidance that will help production fulfill the request accurately.
What if my video has already been published and I forgot to request the audio cut in the brief?
You can use the backup method — find the video card in your feed and tag your coach in the comments below it to request the audio cut after the fact. This approach still works, but it is less streamlined than submitting the request through the edit brief, so expect a slightly longer turnaround.
What format is the audio cut delivered in, and how can it be used?
Audio cuts are delivered as MP3 files, which are compatible with podcast platforms, internal audio players, and social distribution channels. Once delivered, the file can be used as a standalone podcast episode, an audio clip for promotion, or any other audio-first content application relevant to your strategy.
