The stories from the ground are heartbreaking but also filled with hope and resilience.

Melissa Howell, a DMS member based near Asheville, North Carolina, shared how her town was severely impacted by Hurricane Helene. “The western part of the state is in bad shape,” she said. “We lost internet for three days, and I've been volunteering, delivering supplies to those displaced.” Melissa continues to make trips back and forth, helping communities that have gone without basic necessities like water for over a week. "Some areas are so remote that supplies are being delivered by mule trains,” she added. “But people are coming together from all over the country. It’s inspiring.”

In Greenville, South Carolina, Stephanie Gosnell also reported heavy damage and disruption. “Trees are down everywhere, and many homes have been without power and internet for days. We lost a big tree, but thankfully it didn’t hit the house,” Stephanie shared. Despite the challenges, Stephanie remains committed to her work, staying connected with her clients and team through her phone while power was restored.

The stories of resilience and teamwork extend beyond MarketScale employees. Erik Hollen, another MarketScale team member, spoke about the impact on his friends and family in Asheville. “Seeing the damage in my friend's neighborhood was tough,” Erik said. “The devastation is unimaginable, but knowing people are stepping up to help brings hope."

These personal connections motivated the MarketScale team to act.

Under the leadership of our DMS team, we’ve launched a fundraising campaign to aid the American Red Cross in their ongoing relief efforts across the Southeast. The goal is to provide crucial financial support to help those affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene. The Red Cross has deployed thousands of disaster workers to provide shelter, food, water, and medical care to the tens of thousands impacted by the storms, working tirelessly to meet the immediate and long-term needs of these communities.

The impact of our efforts is already being felt. In addition to the funds raised, our community has been actively involved in delivering supplies, providing emotional support, and helping rebuild. Melissa and others continue to volunteer on the ground, demonstrating the true strength of the MarketScale DMS community.

How You Can Help:

MarketScale’s commitment to supporting those affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton is unwavering. As recovery efforts continue, we encourage everyone to get involved, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply sharing these stories. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far—and to those still looking to get involved, there’s much more we can do. Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to support those in need during these challenging times.
