The consumer journey has been evolving, and with the onset of COVID 19, that journey has sped up quickly. It's no longer simply about visiting a store. Consumers want an overall brand experience that is both safe and still social, so to get people out of their bubble at home, businesses are working hard to create an experience that makes people want to stay once they get there. So today we're talking with the team at VVC that created a multi-use city center called Landscape that does just that. All right, so let's talk about where we are and what people can expect when they come here, because this is a pretty incredible place. Yeah, this is the colony. This is a big thing for the colony and for the surrounding areas. It's this the walkability, the space and just very positive things around a lot of entertainment in a lot of places that are things to do that are first to Texas, first to the market, even first of the country, especially the restaurants and stuff. So it's a place where you could feel very comfortable and there's a lot to do and there's a lot of open space. This is a lot of fun at great music. You can smell the food. It's just awesome. What do you think people would look forward to most coming here? I think looking forward to most is you can come here and you can bring your family with you, and you can just kind of lose yourself the whole day here. You know, whether you're going into ANDRITZ and do some kart racing or just, you know, any of the general games in there or catch a movie at the galaxy's theaters here. So what are you a little bit about how the relationship came about between VC and grand scheme? Well, we the developers and the owners from a few years back, and we had some interaction with them when they built the Nebraska Furniture Mart next door. A few years later, us just dealing with them on the weekly basis. We got awarded this job in 2016 and you know, it's just as heavy in retail and residential, and our experience played a role in it and we got involved early on in the design and this was designed in separate packages. While we were working on these, the rest of the center was being designed and developed. So it's a great relationship and they brought us on board and we feel like we're a big asset for them. OK, I would love to check out more of the space. OK hey. So the mission of grand scape is to bring Tens of millions of visitors in every year to really build one of a kind development that, Oh said, we would be successful if we had mayors and governors coming here and going, how did we get one? But it's really about visitor experience and really just have a great time and tell all their friends you've got to go. They're also saying, I would like to know what some of the services bc provided when putting together a project of this magnitude. You know, we got in there with the design team on the front end of this project, took a look at the plans, development budgets for the owner. Then the owner takes in reviews of those budgets and they determine, hey, you know, is that something we really want? And, you know, just not be something that's going to be here for a few years and go away, you know, we want it to last a long time throughout for the warranty other projects. It sounds like everything came together beautifully. Everybody worked together really well, which is evident. And of course, with challenges, there are some highlights too, of course. So what was the highlight for you working on this project? I mean, it's hard to pin on one thing. It's just being outside and enjoying the space and the walkability and the friendliness for the pedestrians and just being outdoors and outside. It's got the feel for a happy place, maybe. So that's really the biggest highlight. Best way to describe it. It does feel like such a happy place. It's really neat to think about how many memories will be made right here in this space with family and friends for generations. That's very cool. All right. So we've only seen a small portion, so I want to walk around and see some more. Is that ok? Yeah all right. Let's do it. I think the relationship with the tenants is so much more in depth here than it has been in any other, any other center upstate. A lot of it has to do with the partnerships and the teamwork that PCC shows and has. I can't think of a better marketing tool for free state than, you know, the stand here. And yeah, we're doing that bill. I mean, that's huge. We've built this now. Suddenly, instead of having to describe a vision to somebody, we can bring them here and show them what we've done and then we can talk about our next phases. I think the best is yet to come. All right. So if somebody was coming to Grand scape for the first time, what's something that you would recommend that they see or do when they get here? You know, it's a lot, a lot of things to pin down one thing you could enjoy the outdoors and you could go to introduce. You can watch a movie, the galaxy and go to shield for me, you know, growing up hunting and fishing. I'm all about shield, so it's got a little bit of everything, if you can imagine. All right. You know what it is for me. I'm going to check out Andretti because after this talk, I feel the need for some speed. So you guys want to join me to do that, and maybe we stop and get some ice cream first. I'll second that area.
