In this episode of Straight Outta Crumpton, Hosts, Greg Crumpton and Tyler Kern, sat down with, Scott Meyers, VP of Operations and Strategic Services at Service Logic. The three discussed the importance of relationships in the industry, as well as the future of trade shows in a post-COVID world.

Meyers was working for another company that did a lot of data center air conditioning work across the country when he met Crumpton. “We had hired Greg’s company back in the fay to perform a lot of work for us,” Meyers said. “Not only did our friendship blossom, but our business relationship blossomed from there.”

Meyers, who was worked in the data center industry for the past 10-15 years, believes that relationship building goes a long way in the industry, “You get to know a lot of folks in this industry and those relationships continue to prosper.”

“The stuff that we get to work on now together, if you think about how much of it is relational there is a lot of pieces,” Crumpton explained in regards to his and Meyer’s experiences in doing business together. “Typically if you and I are on a call together there’s usually somebody on that call that we’re taking care of that you or I or somebody in our group has had a relationship within a previous go round”

In regards to tradeshows, the two agree that face-to-face interactions are a vital component in not only building relationships with customers and industry partners, but also competitors.
