Creating more output without compromise quality or safety requires manufacturers to reengineer their facilities. Many invest in machines that increase yield and pounds per man hour such as high speed evisceration, chillers, cut up equipment, and batch scalers. While new machinery accelerates productivity existing infrastructure like HVAC and ventilation systems can be strained. Existing issues such as washdown recovery, condensation, temperature control, and elevated PAA and c o two levels become more prominent and new ones arise. Over time, the risk of downtime increases and hidden costs surge. Here's a real world scenario. A poultry plant man needs to boost production and invests in a new bird chiller. The chiller drives higher output but the facility faces two key problems One, the HVAC system throughout the facility was already struggling to keep up with the existing heat load. Two, the increased PAA treatment for larger chicken volumes exceeded the ventilation system's ability to mitigate the gases to healthy levels. Adding fans to the roof can draw out the PAA gas levels, but the building will in turn bring outdoor air in that carries additional moisture and higher temperature. This leads to condensation and elevated temperatures which creates an unsanitary condition and threat to product. Instead of this Band Aid solution of fans, the plant manager can achieve greater output safely and profitably with temporary climate control technology executed seasonally. Ideal interior conditions are now sustainable and the environment can bolster production. Interior climate issues are prevalent in poultry production.
