Text to Upload lets you send photos and short videos from your phone’s messaging app into your MarketScale Studio channel. You may also hear this called Text to Post. The result is an upload in Studio; publishing to a website or social account is a separate step.

Before you start
You need a Studio account with upload permission in an enabled channel, a supported mobile number, and a verified phone connection. A Social-only membership does not include media uploading. Messaging availability depends on the service and region shown in your phone settings. If your setup says iMessage only, use an iPhone with iMessage enabled.
Connect your phone
- Open your profile settings in MarketScale Studio and find Phone number.
- Enter the mobile number you will use to send photos and videos. Check the country selection and the messaging information shown.
- Read the messaging consent text and select the consent checkbox if you agree. Select Send code.
- Enter the verification code that arrives. Once verified, save the Studio upload number shown in your settings as a contact. The verification message’s sender may be different from the upload number.
Send your first photo or video
- Attach a photo or short video in your messaging app and send it to the Studio upload number. Use the phone number you verified.
- If Studio offers several channels, reply with the destination’s number or name. Only eligible channels are offered.
- Reply with a useful title, such as “Trade show product demonstration.”
- Add a comment with helpful context, or reply SKIP when asked for a comment. For example: “Use this in the event recap; the speaker explains the installation process.”
- Wait for the upload confirmation and preview link. Open the link to check the media and its destination. An “uploading” reply alone is not the final confirmation.
Find and review your media
Your media is organized in the channel’s Text to Upload folder, with a subfolder under your name. The title identifies the media and your note becomes a comment. When the channel’s approval inbox is enabled, the upload waits for review. Channels without that inbox use their existing approval behavior.
Follow the approval guide before using the content. To have the media produced, follow the edit-request walkthrough. Texting an upload does not itself publish it to a public site or social channel.
If something does not work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No Phone number setup card | Ask your MarketScale contact to confirm Text to Upload availability and your channel’s upload permission. A Social-only role cannot upload. |
| No verification code | Check the number, country, and supported messaging route shown in settings. If setup says iMessage only, enable iMessage on a supported iPhone. Follow any resend or wait message shown before trying again. |
| Your channel is not offered | Confirm you belong to that channel, have upload permission there, and Text to Upload is enabled for you. Ask your MarketScale contact to check access. |
| A video will not send or looks compressed | Messaging services have attachment limits and can compress files. Use Studio’s Upload option for large recordings or when original quality matters. |
| You have an uploading reply but no final link | Allow processing to finish and check the Text to Upload folder in Studio before resending. If it still does not appear, contact support with the approximate send time and channel name. Never share your verification code. |
| The media arrived but is not visible to everyone | Check your channel’s approval inbox and content visibility rules. A successful upload is separate from approval and publishing. |
Plans and messaging
Text to Upload follows your channel access and upload permissions. Compare workspace features, production capacity, and support on the pricing page, and confirm your channel’s access with the MarketScale team. Message and data rates may apply. Use the STOP and HELP instructions shown in your messaging consent when needed.
Choose the right capture path
Use Text to Upload for spontaneous photos and short clips from eligible channel members. Use a Media Request when you need structured questions, several responses, or contributions from people outside your workspace. Use Studio’s Upload option for large files and the recording-room lesson for a planned remote conversation.
