Everyone, Eric here over at MarketScale. I wanna talk to you guys today about onboarding that internal creative that you have on your team, whether it's a video editor, a graphic designer, or someone that Well maybe just leaves that department in general. Right? Everything creative for you. And here's really how to bring them on into Studio the right way. First thing you definitely wanna establish is that Studio is not essentially replacing Adobe Premiere. Right? So you're not actually physically editing in Studio yourself. You're complementing it. So that is an important conversation to have early on, especially with editors who are used to doing the whole entire process themselves. Right? So here's the workflow. They upload raw footage to Studio. Right? Our editors handle the cuts and produce polished, published ready content, which is ready for you to post whenever it's done. And that really frees their internal creative focus on the projects that need their specific touch. Right? It's those hero stories, those long thought out edits that maybe you wanna work one on one with in the office. Saved orders are also a great thing for them to learn about and know about and be able to create so that our editors can be able to better edit for you guys. And I'll be honest with you. Like, it really negates any reexplaining and back and forth whenever you do a saved order. As an editor myself, I can speak to this for sure. This is the mental mode that I would honestly give them. Yeah. Routine and volume content, let that run through studio. Hero pieces, write those longer videos, those more technical videos, right, that can stay with them. And that division of labor is really huge in terms of efficiency. And then also, I would encourage you guys to give them admin access to manage brand books and templates. If they've got an editor if you guys have an editor on hand, give them access. Right? Let them go in, upload the font files, upload a lower third template that's a mogur, and they can zip it up and put it inside templates and say, hey, editors. Use this lower third. Right? Let as an editor, I, you know, I can be able to go through a brand book and be able to look at that and say, okay. You know, I know that other editors would appreciate this. So let them do their thing. They'll be able to see once they get in there how brand books and saved orders work, and they'll be able to communicate their vision Yeah. As a creative to all of our editors here at MarketScale.

Deep Dive

When an organization has internal creative professionals on staff — editors, designers, or content producers — introducing a platform like MarketScale Studio requires thoughtful onboarding. The most common friction point is a perceived conflict: internal creatives may wonder whether the platform is meant to replace their role. Erik Hollen addresses this directly by framing Studio as a complement to existing tools, not a substitute for them.

The practical division of labor is straightforward. The internal creative uploads raw footage and provides direction. MarketScale editors take that material and produce content that is polished and ready for publication. This structure allows internal creatives to concentrate on the projects where their skills are most irreplaceable — hero brand stories, technically demanding shoots, or content that requires a nuanced understanding of the organization's voice and visual identity.

One of the most useful workflow tools Hollen highlights is saved orders. By learning how to build and reuse saved orders, internal creatives can communicate consistent production preferences to MarketScale editors without repeating instructions from scratch each time. This reduces friction, accelerates turnaround, and keeps output aligned with brand standards.

Finally, granting internal creatives admin-level access to brand books and templates is a meaningful step. It shifts them from passive users into active stewards of the brand within the platform. They can define the guardrails that MarketScale editors work within, ensuring that every piece of content produced through Studio reflects the organization's established creative standards. This level of access turns the internal creative into a true internal champion of the platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does onboarding an internal creative to MarketScale Studio mean they stop using Adobe Premiere?

No. MarketScale Studio is designed to work alongside professional editing tools, not replace them. Internal creatives continue using Adobe Premiere or similar software for projects that require their direct expertise, while Studio handles the production of scalable, publication-ready content from raw uploads.

What is a saved order and why does it matter for internal creatives?

A saved order is a pre-configured set of production instructions that can be reused across multiple projects within MarketScale Studio. For internal creatives, saved orders reduce the need to re-explain preferences to editors each time, ensuring consistent output and faster turnaround on recurring content types.

Why should internal creatives be given admin access in MarketScale Studio?

Admin access allows internal creatives to manage brand books and templates directly, giving them control over the visual and tonal standards that MarketScale editors follow. This empowers them to act as brand stewards within the platform and ensures that all produced content aligns with the organization's established creative identity.

After completing this training, explore how to build and manage brand books within MarketScale Studio to ensure consistent output across all editors. You may also benefit from learning how to structure a saved order for different content formats, and how to identify which projects are best suited for internal production versus MarketScale-managed editing.
