So there are many places you could put your asset storage. So in Studio, there are several locations, and I'm gonna go over the different locations in this video. Brand book, folders, asset library, raw footage and folders, and saved orders. All of that, I'm gonna go through in this video really quickly for you. So I'm currently in our studio window here, and I'm gonna go to BrandBooks. And the reason why we're using BrandBooks and when you're building out BrandBooks, you're using it to guide your editing team. So anything that you are building out, whether it logos, as you could see, logos, colors, any sort of fonts, any sort of, you know, fonts, but also graphic elements. As you could see, voice and tone, intro, outro, all that lives in here. Also templates, for examples as well. So the editing team will see this and be able to use this on the back end in Studio, when you build this out properly. There are many different brand books you can build out. Maybe you have different brands. You have different partnerships. All that will live over here by duplicating brand book and creating new brand books that way. There's another way to, submit your assets, and that's the folder view. So if you are in your folders or within your dashboard here, I'm gonna go back to your dashboard, and you can create folders, organize all of your raw footage that you've uploaded. So I'm gonna go back here to our main feed and make sure it loads. And then right here, I have a perfect example. Michelle has uploaded a a video, and we have a folder where we're gonna put it into at Microsoft client education. And then we also could add a folder just as, let's say, Michelle and enter. And that's going to enter it into a folder for her to view later, and her all of her raw footage will live in this folder. So that is a way to use any of the raw content that's coming in. You're building out a folder for that, for that piece. So the the folders live off the top right corner here. You could also click into the the, folder itself underneath the video. But, as you could see, Michelle is the first one that pops up, and her video will pop up here in the window. And this is where you can select media and request edit from the folder from here. So that's a way you would use folders. Any raw video that you have, any raw content that you're building in the Studio platform, you would use folders for that that piece. Why would you use the asset library? So if we were to go back to our main feed and find all of our completed videos, these are the ones that have been edited. They are perfect. They are exactly the way you're wanting them. You go to type. Actually, you would go to status and then completed and then save. And then from there, you should see all completed videos populate in your feed. As you can see right here, we have completed. I'm gonna find one here that has not been put into assets yet, and it should say copy to asset library. There you go. So we'll copy to asset library, and then that will copy to our asset library where we can go to here. The asset library should have a copy of it that shows up in the other folder here at the bottom. We have others that have been built out in channels. But right here, you're gonna be able to share this externally with, anyone outside of market scale. So, this is a perfect way to showcase a mini gallery or, maybe it's for a sales team or any of any of the above, that are looking to share this content that maybe they don't have access to Studio. They're able to use this, as a channel where you can build this out and build a lot of content. You can share it directly from there, or you can, move to a specific collection. Let's say, we have collections here. We have b two b Buzz, workshop live. I'm just gonna create this as a Nicole collection. Alright. Nicole has been built out. We're gonna move to collections, and there you go. So she's gonna be moved into her own collection. And from there, you can click share and then create link and then copy that to an email or anyone that you're looking to do to share out to your communities. And then, the last one I wanted to go over really quickly here, would be to, look at your, any sort of, saved orders. Right? So saved orders, would be, something that you've completed. As you can see, this is a completed video. Everything looks great. It's exactly the way you're wanting it to be. And once you complete mark complete here at the top right corner, it'll say mark complete complete it. You could save it as an order for a template in a later for a later time frame to use it again in a series. Well, so let's say, hey. We wanna be Voices b to b template and using for all of our b to b media content for future use. Just a small note, a quick note, sharing that. Save the order. And this is going to show show when you go in to build out a new instance in your media studio. So it'll show up in the saved orders within your brand books and also within, the media studio survey that you fill out, when you're building out these pieces of content. So, let us know if you have any questions, but hopefully this helps.

Overview

In this 5-minute training, David Dabney introduces the five primary storage locations available in MarketScale Studio: Brand Books, Folders, Asset Library, Raw Footage, and Saved Orders. The video explains the specific purpose of each location and when to route content to it. By the end, users have a clear decision framework for organizing assets consistently across projects and teams.

What Is This?

The asset storage decision tree is a practical framework for determining which of MarketScale Studio's five storage locations should hold a given piece of content based on its type, stage in production, and intended use.

What You'll Learn

  • Identify the five primary storage locations in MarketScale Studio
  • Understand the distinct purpose and use case for each storage location
  • Route brand guidelines and logos correctly using Brand Books
  • Organize raw project content efficiently within Folders
  • Store completed videos in the Asset Library for external sharing and gallery creation
  • Preserve reusable production templates using Saved Orders

Key Insights

  • Brand Books are not general storage—they function as a living reference that guides editing teams on logos, colors, and design standards.
  • Raw Footage is organized by contributor, making it easy to locate incoming media at the source level without searching across projects.
  • The Asset Library is the correct destination for completed, edited videos intended for external sharing or inclusion in public-facing galleries.
  • Saved Orders capture successful production templates so teams can replicate proven workflows across future video series without rebuilding from scratch.

Deep Dive

Effective content organization inside MarketScale Studio starts with understanding that not all assets belong in the same place. Each of the five storage locations is purpose-built for a specific stage of the content lifecycle, and using them correctly prevents clutter, reduces search time, and keeps distributed teams aligned.

Brand Books serve as the authoritative source for brand identity assets. When an editing team needs to apply the correct logo, color palette, or typography standard, Brand Books provide a centralized reference rather than relying on email attachments or informal file sharing. This keeps brand consistency intact across every piece of produced content.

Folders and Raw Footage handle content at the intake and project-organization stage. Folders allow teams to group raw content by project or campaign, creating a logical structure before editing begins. Raw Footage, organized by contributor, captures incoming media at the source level—useful when managing content from multiple contributors across ongoing series or events.

Once content moves through production and reaches a finished state, the Asset Library becomes the correct home. Completed and edited videos stored here are accessible for external sharing and can be pulled into gallery experiences for audiences and clients. This separation between raw and finished content keeps the library clean and easy to navigate.

Finally, Saved Orders address a common inefficiency in video production: rebuilding successful templates from scratch. By preserving the settings and structure of a completed order, teams can apply the same proven format to future videos quickly. Across long-running series or recurring content formats, this capability saves meaningful time and ensures consistency in production output.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Folders and the Asset Library in MarketScale Studio?

Folders are designed to organize raw, unedited content by project during the production process. The Asset Library is reserved for completed, edited videos that are ready for external sharing or gallery placement. Keeping these two locations distinct prevents finished assets from being buried alongside unprocessed media.

When should I use Saved Orders instead of starting a new order from scratch?

Saved Orders are most valuable when a previous production followed a format you want to replicate—such as a recurring interview series or a branded video template. Rather than manually recreating the same settings each time, a Saved Order preserves that structure for immediate reuse. This is especially useful for teams managing high-volume or episodic content.

Who should manage Brand Books in MarketScale Studio?

Brand Books are typically maintained by brand managers or marketing leads who are responsible for ensuring that logo files, color standards, and design guidelines stay current. Editing teams reference Brand Books during production rather than uploading their own versions of brand assets. Centralizing this responsibility reduces the risk of outdated or inconsistent brand elements appearing in published content.

After mastering the asset storage decision tree, users should explore how to build and manage galleries using content from the Asset Library, as well as how contributor management settings affect the organization of Raw Footage. Understanding folder permissions and team access controls in MarketScale Studio is also a natural next step for teams scaling their content operations.
