Streamline Video Creation: Turn User Responses Into Content

This quick tip shows how to select user responses, configure privacy and channel settings, and submit content for a video edit inside the MarketScale platform.

About this lesson
Transcript

Hi. I wanted to share a quick tip on getting your content from the request into editing. So if you go to your request, and we'll use this one as an example, it has four responses. You can see them over here. You can select the responses that you want to be in the edited video or select all. And then over here, request video edit. You can mess with the privacy settings, so your channel. If you have groups in your channel, you can choose them there, and hit create. And that will pull all of the submitted content into a media card, and you can simply get to your request edit now straight from there. Thanks.

Overview

This 45-second training video from contributor Sarah Houder walks through the process of converting collected user responses into a video production request on the MarketScale platform. It covers how to select the right responses, apply privacy settings, assign channel groups, and submit the content for editing. The video is designed for platform users who want to reduce manual steps and move content through the production workflow more efficiently.

What Is This?

Turning user responses into content refers to the process of taking raw video submissions or recorded answers collected through the MarketScale request system and routing them directly into an editing workflow, without redundant manual handling or file transfers.

What You'll Learn

  • Select individual or multiple user responses from a request for video production
  • Choose appropriate privacy settings to control content visibility before publishing
  • Assign content to the correct channel groups within the MarketScale platform
  • Submit selected responses to the editing queue in a single, streamlined action
  • Navigate the requests and uploads section of the platform with confidence
  • Reduce production delays by understanding how responses connect to the editing workflow

Key Insights

  • Selecting responses directly from a request eliminates the need to download and re-upload video files before editing begins
  • Privacy settings applied at the submission stage give teams control over who can view content during the review and edit process
  • Channel group assignment at this step ensures the final video is routed to the right audience and distribution path from the start
  • A single submission action can initiate the full editing workflow, making this one of the highest-leverage steps in the MarketScale content pipeline

Deep Dive

One of the most common points of friction in video content production is the gap between collecting footage and getting it into an editor's hands. When teams rely on email attachments, shared drives, or manual upload processes, time is lost and version control becomes difficult. The MarketScale platform addresses this by connecting the request and response system directly to the editing workflow, allowing content managers to act on submissions the moment they arrive.

The process begins in the requests and uploads section of the platform, where submitted video responses from contributors or subject matter experts are stored and organized. From this view, users can review what has come in and select the responses they want to include in a video edit. This selection step is deliberate — it gives the content manager control over which takes or answers move forward, rather than pushing everything to production automatically.

Once responses are selected, the next decision involves privacy settings. These settings determine who can access the content while it is in progress, which is particularly important for organizations working with sensitive subject matter or staged release schedules. Choosing the right setting here prevents unintended visibility before a video is ready for its intended audience.

Assigning the content to a channel group is the final configuration step before submission. Channel groups in MarketScale correspond to specific distribution destinations or audience segments, so making this assignment early keeps the production pipeline organized and reduces rework later. After submission, the content enters the editing queue and the workflow proceeds without requiring further manual intervention from the requestor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I select multiple user responses to include in a single video edit submission?

Yes, the platform allows you to select more than one response from a request before submitting for an edit. This is useful when building a video from multiple contributors or when combining answers from different participants into a single piece of content.

What do the privacy settings control at the point of submission?

Privacy settings determine who within the platform can view the content while it is being edited or reviewed. Applying the correct setting at submission ensures the video is not visible to unintended audiences before it has been approved or published.

What happens after I submit responses for a video edit?

Once submitted, the selected responses enter the editing queue and are assigned to the appropriate production team or editor within the MarketScale workflow. You do not need to take additional steps to transfer files or notify the editing team manually.

After mastering the submission process, users may want to explore how to structure effective video requests to collect higher-quality responses from contributors in the first place. Understanding channel group configuration and platform navigation more broadly will also help content managers make faster, more confident decisions at every stage of the production workflow.
