DONGGUAN, China — September 2026 — LS Manufacturing has finalized a $250,000 new product introduction (NPI) agreement with a French Tier-1 automotive supplier following an on-site audit of its manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China. The supplier’s procurement and engineering team conducted the facility audit to evaluate LS Manufacturing’s precision machining capabilities, quality systems, and readiness for automotive production. During the audit, the team verified live, on-spindle CMM inspection results for 6061-T6 powertrain mounts manufactured using simultaneous 5-axis CNC machining. The inspected components achieved dimensional tolerances of ±0.006 mm, meeting the supplier’s audit criteria. The audit also covered LS Manufacturing’s quality and compliance processes, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certification, PPAP Level 3 documentation, First Article Inspection (FAI), and material and heat-treatment traceability. Following the successful audit, the French Tier-1 supplier finalized a $250,000 NPI agreement with LS Manufacturing for the next stage of the automotive manufacturing program. “For automotive procurement teams, supplier qualification is about more than reviewing capability presentations,” said LS Manufacturing. “The ability to verify dimensional performance, quality systems, and production readiness directly on the shop floor gives engineering and procurement teams greater confidence before moving into NPI.” The project highlights the importance of real-time metrology and multi-axis machining for automotive components where tolerance stack-up and repeated fixture changes can affect dimensional consistency. By using simultaneous 5-axis machining and on-spindle CMM inspection, LS Manufacturing aims to reduce cumulative setup errors and provide traceable quality data throughout production. LS Manufacturing provides CNC machining, 5-axis machining, rapid prototyping, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, metal casting, and other custom manufacturing services for customers across global markets.
