Paper packaging may worsen net-zero goals more than plastic

Izquierdo argues that the corporate pivot toward paper packaging is based on flawed climate logic, and that plastic often delivers superior lifecycle emissions performance when total carbon footprint—not material perception—is measured rigorously. He contends that net-zero commitments are being undermined by well-intentioned but scientifically unsound packaging substitution.
