Hey. What's going on, folks? It's Daniel Litwin, voice of b two b, and I've got some tips here for you on how you can improve your customer service and account management communications, leveraging quick, low barrier to entry, and sometimes even zero edit content. What I'm going to suggest for you all today is that for every time you sign a new client, right, you get a new customer in the door, record a welcome video. And no, I don't mean record the same one generic intro video, hey, customer, hey, insert name here, that you deploy every single time you get a new customer, right? Because folks are gonna be able to tell when you're given some boilerplate content. No, no, no. What I'm suggesting is that it is very straightforward for you to leverage MarketScale Studio and bake into your operations, sitting down and recording a quick ninety second hello straight to webcam, or even just going selfie mode right on your phone and uploading it into the platform. If you want to get a quick polished edit on it, you can, maybe to throw the client's logo on there, show a little effort. Or again, you can leverage the tool to just record some raw content and get that shipped out to your customer to start that relationship off on the right foot. It's almost like sending a thank you note. Right? Getting a nice personalized hello, a welcome video is a really powerful way to establish the tone of the relationship that you want to have with your customers. So here are my main tips for this, right? Again, new clients, especially if they're coming through an acquisition or a referral, or maybe they're a new client to you, right? A different account manager was managing that account and now it's on your plate. Well, they don't know who you are yet. They may know the company, but who are you, the account manager, right? Should they trust you? Why should they trust you? How can you establish some rapport authority quickly without needing to go through the motions of, you know, small talk about the weather on that first Zoom call that you gotta host? You can intercept that and build a little confidence and rapport with a quick intro video. And it doesn't have to be anything longer than ninety seconds. So, again, check this out. Right? Keep it to under ninety seconds and keep your camera on the whole time. It's an intro. This is not a training video, so you don't need to overdo things. This can be rough around the edges. It can be you just riffing off the dome. You can honestly have some little pauses and stumbles. Totally fine. If you wanna cut those out, you can by requesting an edit on the content, but brevity itself is part of the mission here. If you send someone a ten minute intro video, oh my. That's maybe a little much. Right? So not only is it in your best interest to create a quick punchy welcome video, because, you know, we're all working on limited time, but sending that quick punchy intro video in and of itself is showing and signaling to your customer you respect their time, but you also wanna make sure they know who you are. Right? Two birds, one stone. Here is an example of how you can kick this off. Right? So let's get in character. Hey, Sandy. I'm Daniel Litwin, and I'm gonna be your point of contact here at MarketScale. It's a pleasure to meet you. Here's a little bit about myself. Right? Now most importantly here, you want to make sure you lead with them, not really with you. So I wouldn't make it all about, you know, why you like cats and why Star Wars is your favorite movie series. You wanna make sure this intro video is about you positioning that flag of authority and kinda starting to set the tone of what the relationship is gonna look like. So I'm gonna be your point of contact at market scale, and here's what I'm really excited about crushing with you and working on with you. I know that you have a priority around creating a lot of sales, training videos, and so I've already been cooking on the back end with some ideas that I'm ready to pitch at our upcoming admin call. Right? Targeted focus, showing your personality, showing your initiative. So the point here is communicate thoughtfully with brevity and make sure that these intros are building rapport. And last but not least, try to leave your welcome video with a call to action or a what's next. It's not just a hi. Nice to meet you or I'd see you at some point. It's, hey, and reminder, next week we've got our intro call. So before then, I want to make sure, come to the table with your ideas already mapped out. That way we can make our call more productive. Can't wait to meet you, Sandy, and I'll see you on our call next week. There you go. Right? You've given them something to think about, something to chew on, and something to do proactively that's now going to reinforce this relationship you've established asynchronously all through a quick ninety second video. So let's try this. Right? Pick a new client relationship. Record a sixteen to ninety second welcome. Keep that camera on. Make sure your face is there. Right? Make sure you say hello. Make sure you make it about them. Make sure you make it about the relationship. Give it a what's next. Right? And then send them a link to that video. And now, boom, you've got a great new relationship that you have taken the initiative to establish, all because you recorded a quick welcome video. Simple as. So I highly recommend folks that you take the time to establish a workflow like this and that you take advantage of MarketScale Studio as a tool to accomplish this. Right? Reminder, You can record these videos directly in MarketScale Studio. It's as simple as going to a record room like this one and recording a quick hello. Remember, you can request edits on this. Right? You can even have your notes on here if you want to remind yourself about, you know, aspects of the customer, you know, nuances about the contract, first priorities. You can list these out here and keep them visual for yourself so they're easy to reference. It's as easy as hitting start, recording, and then you can use the raw clip or, again, request an edit on it. Now you can also just upload content directly into the platform, and this is if you wanna go even more authentic and go selfie mode on your phone. That reads even more like, hey, I took time on my, you know, walk from the office, or as I got home and I'm taking the dogs for a walk, wanted to take a minute to communicate with you, say hello. Right? That's gonna translate nicely over selfie mode on your phone. Play around with this. The welcome video should be something that reflects you and your personality and the relationship you're trying to build. So if you think that relationship is gonna be stronger over a selfie video, record on here, open this up on your browser on your phone, and just upload the clips into the platform. Then they'll show up on your home feed, and you can use them again for an edit or even just redownload them and send them raw. So that's what I've got for you. Right? I challenge all of y'all. Record a welcome video for every new client relationship you get and watch how it makes that first call more productive and that relationship, you know, stronger, right, at the end of the day. That's what we're looking to do is serve our customers and make sure that we really understand their issues. Alright, team. That's what I've got. Good luck out there, and I hope to see some more welcome videos.

Overview

In this 7-minute training, Daniel Litwin explains how to record a short, personalized welcome video for every new client relationship — before the first meeting takes place. The video covers the three-part structure that makes these messages feel genuine rather than templated, and walks through two practical recording options: MarketScale Studio and selfie mode on a smartphone. The goal is to establish human connection early, reduce friction in new relationships, and signal that a client is seen as an individual, not just an account.

What Is This?

A client welcome video is a brief, camera-on message — typically 90 seconds or less — recorded specifically for a new client to introduce yourself, acknowledge them personally, and set clear expectations for what comes next in the relationship.

What You'll Learn

  • Understand why a 90-second welcome video outperforms a standard introductory email in building early rapport
  • Learn the three-part message structure: open with them, frame your role, close with a clear next step
  • Apply the 'lead with them' principle to make every welcome video feel personal rather than generic
  • Record a polished, camera-on welcome video using MarketScale Studio or smartphone selfie mode
  • Develop a repeatable workflow so welcome videos become a consistent part of every new client onboarding
  • Avoid common mistakes that make welcome videos feel scripted or self-promotional

Key Insights

  • Camera-on delivery builds more trust in 90 seconds than a written introduction can build in several paragraphs
  • Leading with something specific about the client — their company, challenge, or goal — immediately signals that you have done your homework
  • Ending with a concrete 'what's next' removes ambiguity and makes it easier for the client to take the following step
  • Consistency matters more than production quality — a genuine, well-structured message recorded on a phone performs better than a polished video that never gets sent

Deep Dive

First impressions in B2B relationships are often shaped before a single conversation happens. A personalized welcome video gives you the opportunity to set the tone of a new client relationship on your terms — warm, prepared, and human — rather than leaving it to a calendar invite or a templated onboarding email.

The framework Daniel teaches in this training is built around a simple three-part structure. You open by acknowledging something specific about the client: their industry, the challenge they mentioned in the sales process, or the goal they are trying to reach. This is what Daniel calls 'leading with them,' and it is the detail that separates a welcome video from a generic introduction. The second part briefly frames what your working relationship will look like — who you are, what your role is, and what you will be responsible for together. The third part closes with a clear, low-friction next step, whether that is confirming a meeting time, reviewing a document, or simply letting them know what to expect in the first call.

For recording, the training offers two practical paths. MarketScale Studio provides a clean, branded environment that produces consistent visual quality with minimal setup. For teams that need more flexibility, a smartphone in selfie mode — in decent lighting, with a stable surface — is entirely sufficient. The emphasis throughout is on removing the barriers that cause people to delay or skip the video entirely.

Over time, this practice becomes a professional habit that compounds. Clients who receive a personalized welcome video before the first call arrive more engaged, more trusting, and more prepared. It sets a collaborative tone that carries through the entire relationship and differentiates your approach in a way that is difficult for competitors to replicate without genuine effort.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a client welcome video be?

The target length is 90 seconds. This is long enough to feel personal and substantive, but short enough that the client will watch it in full. Going longer risks losing attention before you reach the 'what's next' close.

Do I need professional recording equipment to send a welcome video?

No. A smartphone in selfie mode, placed in consistent lighting with a clean background, produces more than adequate quality for a welcome video. The priority is that the message gets recorded and sent — production value is secondary to consistency and authenticity.

What should I avoid saying in a client welcome video?

Avoid opening with statements about yourself, your company, or how excited you are to work together. These phrases shift the focus away from the client and make the video feel like a pitch. Lead with something specific to them, and save your own framing for the middle of the message.

After establishing a welcome video habit, explore how to build a broader set of content lanes that keep client communication consistent throughout an engagement — including check-in videos, milestone recaps, and renewal touchpoints. Training on script and messaging frameworks can also help you develop a bank of flexible language you can personalize quickly without starting from scratch each time.
