Uber is stepping up its game with a whole new fleet of self-driving taxis. On Monday, Volvo agreed to supply the ride-share company with 24,000 new self-driving vehicles starting in 2019. The taxi will be modeled after Volvo’s popular XC90, a luxury SUV that can hold up to seven passengers. Chief Executive of Volvo Cars, Hakan Samuelsson said, “*The base vehicles incorporate all necessary safety, redundancy and core autonomous driving technologies that are required for Uber to add its own self-driving technology*.”
