At the start of her career, there were hardly any other women to be found. But today, with the help of social media and a vast network, Jessie surrounds herself with a positive team and a community of passionate Charleston-based video professionals. Her two companies, Palmetto Coast Media and Palmetto Wedding Films, fulfill all production needs, be it TV programs, business promos, nonprofits, events or wedding videos.

[Beverly Tan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/beverlytan/), Founder and Storyteller at [Fire & Spunk Productions](https://fireandspunk.com/welcome), has recently graduated into a new era of film production and has found the Facebook community of female media professionals to be invaluable in offering camaraderie and job opportunities. With her eye on TV and Film, Tan is always on the hunt for good stories that have drama and intrigue.

“Filmmaking is the most collaborative art form there is,” said Tan in a nod to the many different shoes the women have filled throughout their careers. Both Andersen-Berens and Tan’s experience shows they do more on the set than “show up and shoot.” Be it as a CEO, producer, or freelancer, the women have both had storied careers. They prove to be not just good *female* filmmakers, but good filmmakers. Call it a woman’s touch or simply sublime filmmaking, their work resonates deeply with viewers, no matter the genre.
