Severe weather, like hurricanes and heavy rains, can have a massive impact on people throughout the world. [Hurricane Ida](https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/08/31/us/hurricane-ida-updates) recently hit Louisiana ,and the [Shaanxi](http://www.ecns.cn/news/society/2021-08-30/detail-ihaqqnar7342861.shtml) province of China has had over a hundred thousand people affected by heavy rains.

To get some insight into how drones may be used in the response and mitigation of natural disasters, we spoke with the Vice President of Public Safety of [Auterion](https://auterion.com/) and friend of MarketScale, [Romeo Durscher.](https://www.linkedin.com/in/romeodurscher/)
