> Telefónica's TSA has commissioned an 11.4-meter Alfalite LED wall, fed by servers over NDI, for a new TSAmediaHUB monitoring room in Aravaca, Madrid.

## Key points

- Fed over NDI video-over-IP, Telefónica's Aravaca wall makes the arrangement of broadcast feeds a server setting that can be adapted for each operation.

Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA), the audiovisual services arm of Telefónica, has supplied and commissioned an Alfalite LED wall for a new broadcast monitoring room. The room is located in the group's National Supervision and Operations Centre in Aravaca, Madrid. The display is a UHD Finepix 1.2 MATIX AlfaCOB that is 11.4 meters wide and 2 meters high, which gives a viewing area of almost 23 m².

The room serves TSAmediaHUB, Telefónica's new platform for producing, managing, processing, storing and distributing audiovisual content, and the Aravaca centre is where TSAmediaHUB services are run. The wall handles production control and the monitoring of broadcast feeds whose transmission TSA manages. For anyone writing a control-room spec, the most useful detail sits behind the panel. Servers feed the wall over NDI, a video-over-IP protocol, so the screen is the last stop in a network pipeline.

The fine pitch and the wide format suggest a wall made for rows of feeds sitting side by side, with no bezels breaking the image between them.

Alfalite argues the pitch, refresh rate and viewing angle together give the detail, uniformity and readability needed to watch many feeds from different spots in the room. In a monitoring room, the operator at the far end of the desk has to read the same tile as the one sitting dead center.

## Layouts live on the servers

Because the sources arrive over NDI, they're distributed and displayed centrally, and the layout can be adapted for each operation. Fed over NDI, the wall turns the monitoring layout into a server setting, which leaves the panel with one job: keep every tile readable from every seat.

That design fits the platform the room watches over. TSAmediaHUB combines infrastructure, connectivity, technology and specialist audiovisual operations. Its aim is to centralize and modernize workflows, whether they run in the cloud, in hybrid setups or on premises. It handles media asset management, processing and transcoding, and automated quality control, along with storage, distribution and AI-powered content enrichment. A platform that covers that many environments suggests a monitoring room that pulls its sources from the network rather than from fixed inputs.

For broadcast and media-operations leaders already running feeds over IP, the Aravaca room is a concrete reference design: one seamless panel at the end of an NDI chain, with the layout handled upstream. Teams still matching each source to its own physical monitor face a different decision, because their layout is fixed by the hardware.

## Specs written for long shifts

The rest of the spec sheet is about the people in the room. MATIX AlfaCOB, invidis explains, encapsulates the chip-on-board LED modules in optical layers that create a matte surface to cut reflections and glare. Alfalite says that matters in rooms with controlled lighting, where operators spend long stretches in front of the screen. The same full encapsulation protects the modules against impacts, liquids and chemicals, which the company ties to reliability under heavy use. Fanless convection cooling keeps the wall quiet.

## Two Telefónica briefs, one Madrid supplier

An Alfalite case study also describes an immersive LED cube that Alfalite designed and installed as part of the company's centennial celebration, at the new Movistar Space in the Telefónica Building on the Gran Vía in Madrid. The cube has five internal faces covering three walls, the floor and ceiling, and uses Alfalite's Modularpix Pro 1.5 ORIM panels.

The two projects asked for very different things. The Gran Vía cube was built for visitors to step inside and immerse themselves in a sensory experience. The Aravaca wall is used for production control and for monitoring the broadcast feeds whose transmission TSA manages.
