> Qbic Technology closed its first trading day up more than 10%. Its plan for office buyers: cloud management for its ARM-based panels and access devices.

## Key points

- One booking panel outside a conference room is a gadget; every panel, door reader and sign across a building is a fleet, and Qbic wants to be the one watching it.

Qbic Technology had a rough first morning as a listed company. Buying emerged near midday and pushed the stock into positive territory, and it closed up more than 10%, BigGo Finance reported.

Buyers of Qbic's products can mostly ignore the trading swing. Qbic is building a Cloud Remote Device Management platform to remotely monitor and manage its ARM-based devices.

## Panels, door readers and AV controls on ARM

Chou listed the company's ARM capabilities as board support packages (the code that gets an operating system running on specific hardware), firmware, Android and Linux, remote management and peripheral I/O integration. The product line started with meeting-room booking panels. It now includes smart access control, digital signage, smart control and AIoT devices.

Qbic continues to increase its investment in the smart office market, according to BigGo Finance. Its existing ARM platform now covers meeting-room booking, shared seating, access control, visitor management and central control of room equipment.

Chip partnerships sit underneath all of it. Qbic is an NXP system design and development partner. In 2023 it became a MediaTek design partner and earned Apple Wallet certification.

## Integrators will see the console first

The company reaches customers through application software vendors, system integrators and professional AV brands, focusing on smart offices, meeting-room AV control and outdoor smart panels. A booking panel can arrive bundled with a room-scheduling app or as part of an AV integrator's conference-room project. Exports are the main source of revenue, according to BigGo Finance.

That route to market decides who has to evaluate a cloud management layer. BigGo Finance described the platform as Qbic's way into customers' device lifecycle management and a way to raise the value of software and services in what it sells. One booking panel outside a conference room is a gadget; every panel, door reader and sign across a building is a fleet, and Qbic wants to be the one watching it.

As enterprises deploy a growing number of smart endpoints, centralized management, maintenance and operation of those devices become increasingly important, according to BigGo Finance.

## Advantech's version of the same move

Qbic isn't the only Taiwanese industrial computer maker putting software on top of its hardware. Advantech has three hardware tiers: Edge AI Embedded modules that add AI to existing systems, Edge AI Appliances built for sectors such as healthcare and robotics, and Edge AI Servers for on-site processing that doesn't suit the cloud. On top sits a software layer of development tools meant to shorten development cycles. Advantech expects AI capability to become a standard feature of systems.

Chang's case for edge AI rests on low latency, real-time response and data privacy, with most inference demand coming from healthcare, manufacturing and semiconductors. Qbic's AIoT line points the same way, but its cloud platform does a different job. Advantech's software layer helps customers build edge applications. Qbic's keeps the devices it has already shipped running. Both suggest that buyers of this kind of hardware will increasingly evaluate the software that comes with it.

## Rooms that stay off the network

Some buyers don't want their room devices talking to the cloud at all. At TAITRA's TAITRONICS AIoT 2026 expo in Taipei, AI Ubestream business manager Lin Ching-hua told Mexico Business News reporter Fernando Mares that the company runs its AIspeakin translation software fully offline on MSI EdgeXpert hardware. It's aimed at public bodies and corporate boards that won't let internal communications reach external servers, and the systems get software updates once a year.

Translating meeting audio is a different workload from monitoring a booking panel. Still, both sit in the same rooms where confidential conversations happen, and the buyers Ubestream targets show that some security reviews start by assuming nothing calls home. For those organizations, a cloud console is something they'd need to approve before installing the hardware.

Qbic is using the platform to raise the value of software and services within its overall solutions, according to BigGo Finance. For investors, that suggests the revenue mix, along with the Americas share of about 20%, could show whether the shift is working.
