Rock Health counted $7.4 billion invested into U.S. digital health startups across 244 deals in the first half of 2026. Nineteen companies raised 20 rounds of $100 million or more, representing 45% of all capital invested, according to Rock Health’s H1 2026 funding and market overview published July 13.

According to Rock Health, 19 companies secured 20 rounds of $100 million or more in H1 2026, capturing 45% of total digital health venture funding from just over 8% of transactions.

## The numbers behind the rebound, and where it’s concentrated

Rock Health’s dataset puts H1 2026 at $7.4 billion, up $1 billion from H1 2025’s $6.4 billion, on roughly the same deal count, 244 deals versus 245. Rock Health also reported a quarterly split of $4.2 billion in Q1 and $3.2 billion in Q2.

The median deal size rose to $14 million in H1 2026 from $12 million in 2025, according to Rock Health.

Fierce Healthcare, reporting on the same Rock Health analysis, noted that the mega deal list included rounds for Whoop ($575 million), OpenEvidence ($250 million), Grow Therapy ($150 million), Verily ($300 million), Talkiatry ($210 million), eMed ($200 million), Forus ($160 million), and Aidoc ($150 million).

## According to Rock Health, it discontinued its “AI-enabled” classification because AI is now too widespread for the label to be meaningful.

## Where the money is going: mental health and GLP-1 ecosystems

Mental health continues to be the top-funded clinical indication, and weight management and obesity are the second most-funded clinical indication, according to Fierce Healthcare.

## What this changes in vendor evaluation in 2026

Rock Health’s own explanation for the funding pattern is that as AI makes more software easier to build, defensible advantage shifts to what is harder to replicate. Rock Health described four themes it sees investors seeking: domain expertise, owning more of the workflow, hands-on delivery, and strong partnerships or network effects.

Rock Health reported $4.2 billion in Q1 and $3.2 billion in Q2 of 2026 digital health venture funding.
