On this special episode of MarketScale’s Online Learning Minute, host [Brian Runo](https://marketscale.com/industries/author/brian-runo/) tackled the online learning implications of the recent global spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus.

With many universities, companies and other bodies shutting their doors in an effort to aid containment of the potential pandemic, online learning could provide a critical pathway to maintaining operations at as close to a normal level as is possible through remote solutions.

Already, the University of Washington, MIT, Harvard and more of the nation’s most prolific universities, as well as outposts of Google, Microsoft, Apple and other tech giants in the Pacific Northwest, have committed to moving completely online for a period of time, upping the stakes surrounding the effective use of online collaboration. However, Runo said, success is still more than possible. “Working remotely doesn’t mean that you have to lose productivity,” he said.
